What is on my mind, the status quo, are people that well trained to accept what the status quo tells them is the status quo, or are they able to think for themselves, check the options and there decide for themselves what they wish to believe.
I tend not to follow the status quo, for that reason I am either alternative thinking or nuts, take your pick, whatever hat fits in the eyes of the normal. I just think followers of what officialdom dictate are either well trained or unthinking for themselves.
At my art college recently, we have been told to keep away from websites that involve conspiracy theories, as what we read is influencing our beliefs about the world in which we live, which transpires in our work. Interestingly of all those in the class, not one person did not have a conspiracy theory about what is around us. Just to note the class age range is from mid twenties to mid fifties and a 90/10 percent female/male ratio, all studying the arts, fine artists, crafters, film makers, photographers and fashion designers. Either we are all nuts, alternative thinking or we can see something else hidden from normal view. We were being taught how to accept information and write academically.
My thoughts as to why conspiratoral thought is prominent, is we are living in a very public world, which gets more public every day, something past generations might not have had beyond written works and libraries.
