History is history... you or I can't rewrite it. I won't argue it... you can look it up as well as I did. If not then think as you like.

Know what gets me, is how certain seemingly flippant statements can be so true. They actually do hate us because of our freedom and democracy. GWB was right, and once one is aware of exactly what this brand of freedom and democracy is, they usually hate it as well.

They have no Constitution like ours, therefore draconian laws such as those in Gemany will be enacted, curtailing their freedom of speech. We will free their Women, to go about and wind up on Jerry Springer. We will rebuild the hospitals and schools we bombed, but not the people who were in there at the time.

Then our democracy will bring them the choice between two or three possible leaders, who they all hate and none of them respect nor have any desire to follow, and they get the choices we get, the lesser of two evils.

And then when they abandon our useless fiat currency they get bombed back into the stone age, and Iraq is absolute proof of that. And then, worse than any bully, we will keep breaking their legs so they can never gain the strength to challenge us. And that goes for anyone else also.

That is why our freedom and democracy is so well loved and recieved in the world.

More than 70 % of American male babies are strapped down and get their genitals mutilated without their consent. I think that could creat a terrorist.

Terrorism is typically a last ditch effort that a group that feels politically disenfranchised uses to seek attention and support.

If we weren't meddling, encroaching, and exploiting them, do you really think they'd give a rat's ass about the freedom our women have, or Jerry Springer?

Please don't misunderstand me. Though freedom is a relative term, we certainly enjoy levels of freedom that they don't. And you're right that my comment was flippant. Hell... I don't even like what we stand for. I think our system is rotten from the top all the way down. I say forget an overhaul. Scrap it, and build new.

Collectively, we're a bunch of lemmings. We're incapable of critical thinking, and ready to go over a cliff... yet hopelessly entrenched to vain entertainment and allowing others to do our thinking for us. We do seem perfectly content to bicker amongst ourselves over what's the best band-aid to cover a hemorrhage, or debate tax and spend vs. borrow and spend. We have been indoctrinated to think in terms of treating symptoms, and our indoctrinators have done a world-class job. The lemmings serve their indoctrinators well by focusing upon our differences and "scoring one for the team" instead of trying to find common ground (you being a recent exception).

Ah... don't get me started, I'll be up all night. You're smart enough to know where I'm coming from.

However, I don't see a threat of the Muslim Fundamentalist world encroaching upon us. Assuming they could even organize it, what would motivate them to pick a fight they couldn't win? And what specifically was GWB right about?
