FirstStateMaster -> scammers (3/7/2010 6:15:21 PM)

Hello. I am a Master  and I've been in the Lifestyle for 20 years now. Those wondering, yes, I come here to seek subs and slaves.  My profile is completed and with My  real picture!
But the site now is going down hill..... fast!  I have been here for a day or two... LOL!  And I have seen this site go from the top and now falling  on a steady downward spin because of the scammers. It seems, and I can only speak for Myself,  but every submissive or slave I send a message is answering from the same play book of questions.  Their first question is what is My location and second is what I do for a living. Then they send Me pictures of girls who I have seen for years on the net, claiming its them.   Is there anyway to stop these people and return this site to the good site it used to be?
I enjoy this site and I have made many online friends here.

Ummm... maybe stop writing to to the young women who look like fetish models? You are 52 looking for someone up to 30 years younger. Sorry, but that makes you scammer/ golddigger bait. Also, do you actually read the profiles before you write to these scammers? If they really are scammers (not just young ladies looking for a sugardaddy), a 30 second to 2 minute profile perv is usually all it takes to spot them.

FirstStateMaster -> RE: scammers (3/7/2010 6:55:30 PM)

yes, I do read the profiles. But like most on here, the profiles contain very little information.  I seek the younger subs and slaves because that is what I like. I have always enjoyed the younger subs and slaves. Even at 30 and 40, the younger were more My interest then the ones My age group.

InvisibleBlack -> RE: scammers (3/7/2010 7:02:39 PM)

This site contains a treasure trove of amazing submissives willing to serve your every desire. A veritable smörgåsbord of gorgeous vixens who are proficient in every kink in the book, always ready, willing and eager. However, such a prize doesn't just fall at your feet. Some effort is required. You must prove that you are a "true dom" and not some wannabe or horny loser sitting in a basement somewhere lit only by the light of the monitor.

The smokescreen of fake profiles designed to distract and mislead the unwary and the unobservant is only the first hurdle for you to overcome.

I am not allowed to speak of the others. You will find them in time should you overcome the first. Remember your training. You must master your desires or your desires will master you.

'Nuff said.

A guy over fifty after young girls had best have a few million stashed away.

May you be successful in your search! Good luck!

Simple way to avoid internet people who are not what they claim they are is this.  Stop trying to find your submissive via the internet.  Go to munches.  Go to events.  See??  Problem solved.  No internet scammers trying to take your last penny.   Now you just have to wow them with your personality.

An easy way to stop "these people" is for the site to start charging for access. Soooo how happy are you to start paying $50 a month to keep the scammers away???

The whole thing about CM is that it is a free site. It will attract the trolls, scammers and those with just curious about wiiwd.  What you have to weigh up having to sort through a few fakes against paying for someone else to do it for you.

stella41b -> RE: scammers (3/7/2010 10:22:25 PM)

I guess I'm curious here more than anything. You say you're a Master and have been in The Lifestyle (whatever that means) for 20 years and that you are seeking subs and slaves, correct?

How come you are still holding other people responsible for the results of your search?

The way I see it this isn't Plentyoffish dot com or a site which guarantees that you will find anyone which some of the paid sites do, I didn't read any guarantees from Collarme assuring you that you would find anybody, but you appear to be blaming CM because you haven't found any subs or slaves.

I mean, this would be a bit like me going somewhere like San Francisco or New York to find someone, and then not finding anyone I would be saying that New York or SF would be going downhill and full of fakes.

Has it ever occurred to you that you just might be doing something or not doing something which is preventing you from finding someone?

I'm not looking, but when I was I didn't run into lots of scammers. Hmm, wonder why. Maybe I'm just too ugly for them, and my profile photo scared them off.

Or just maybe it could be because I know more or less where to look to find those who I'm looking for, I read profiles, read what people write to me, and recognize a scammer a mile off.

Maybe it's because I just move on when I suspect someone is a scammer and won't interact with them.

Or maybe it's the fact that I deem myself responsible for my own search and for the results.

But I could be wrong. I could be just too damn ugly I scare people away.

Just sayin'

Works for the weekend warrior scammers, but not the pros that are actually good at what they do. Those guys are delighted when a singles site becomes a pay site. Ever wonder what happens to all those phished credit card numbers? They get sold and used for, amongst other things, paying for memberships on dating sites. Why do they bother? Because it's easier to hook a fish that thinks it is in a safe place and "protected" from the fisherman.

OP - I perused your profile and, to be honest, it comes across as being very negative and jaded. I'm sure that I'm not the only sub (and soon to be slave...yay!) on this site that immediately writes off anyone whose profile is full of complaints and whining about 'fakes, scammers and wannabes'.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and all that [:)]

I wish you luck with your search

ResidentSadist -> RE: scammers (3/8/2010 4:09:32 AM)

Dad, is that you?
Oh, never mind. My dad never would have been so rude as to insult his host. Its just that you could have been anyone with that blurry ass photo you are so proud of.

-=Look Before You Leap=-
You might want to use the search function in the forums as often as you do on the other side. You would have discovered over a thousand threads with "scammers", "warning" and "Nigerians" in them. The old dogs here are rather familiar with the fact that the entire internet, not just CollarMe. is being exploited in a different way these days. The scams are NOT more prevalent, They just come to you through new avenues.

Remember those emails you used to get that said some dipshit was stuck in Nigeria with millions of dollars and all they needed was your bank account number to move the money to a safe country? Well, that routine got old. Now they make profiles on dating sites and try to get you to send plane fair… or on BDSM sites, they just need your bankl account info to sell you their slaves.

So the next time you get the urge to post insults bragging about how amazingly perceptive your epiphany of something that is old news, do you homework. Push the search button. It may save you some embarrassment. After 20 years as an explorer in the lifestyle, you should have learned to look before you leap by now.

-=Don’t Piss on Your Host If You Want To Be Welcome At The Party=-
You really shouldn't insult your host or their guests online or in real life. They are the ones throwing the party pal! You piss on them and you piss off their friends.

It would be mighty damn Domly of you to apologize for being such a rude fuck. Then go fix your shitty profile and blurry pictures. That very well may be part of the trouble you are having finding someone. Your photo is equal to no photo at all because it is so blurry. You don’t look like an unattractive man . . . but no one will ever know unless you show off your handsome self with a decent photo.

i agree...negativity is not a good first impression.

I wouldn't have pointed out the error of his ways so harshly but his profile was that of a wanker. How the fuck can any male Dom not find a match . . . on CollarMe . . . or at the local munch . . . or dungeon . . . or walking down the street? If he was a male sub that didn't want to pay for play, I could see the problem. But good male Doms are a rarity. We get pursued. Pussy rains from the sky. Gazelles jump into the lion's mouth etc, etc.

Besides, I gave away my magic 8 ball secret for replies in yesterday's “I can’t find a match” thread.

Ok, threads like this make me sad. :-(
The bolded part of this post made me smile. :D

So I'm reposting it, in case anybody missed it and needs a little happiness lift, and I'm adding my own 'Woohoo! Go Myotherself!!' to it.

Here we go:

Woohoo! Go Myotherself!

thishereboi -> RE: scammers (3/8/2010 4:56:54 AM)

Finding someone takes time. Maybe you should try getting out in the real world and looking there, I have found it's much easier to meet people that way. If you determined to find someone here, then I would suggest changing your profile. If I were looking for a man, I wouldn't make it past your first paragraph in your profile. Way too bitchy, who wants to hook up with a guy who whines? Oh and you may consider yourself an "expert" in the lifestyle, but to me putting that on your profile make you look a tad bit egotistical. Good luck with your search.

myotherself -> RE: scammers (3/8/2010 5:18:30 AM)

LOL - thank you VC!

After ages 'searching' for someone, seems that what I was looking for was right in front of my face the whole time [:D]

*does a happy, bouncy little bunny dance*
