The issue per the above article is that the disclosure of where the experts came from was not mentioned.  That means any advice is biased-- even if they say otherwise.

Not so sure its a case of his sources being biased Thorn......seems to me they are just downright whacky.Hence the appeal!

most of which comes from their white papers.

Gee - imagine that.

Going to the source.

But I really don't care.   I am in good shape.   I care about "me".   Thankfully there are a few critical thinking people around.

the rest- will get to be taken care of by the government at the Superdome.   Oh what fun that will be- as we are another day closer to 1/2 the globe dieing in nukes.

So-  think what you want.

Who cares.

TV tanked long, long, long before 2007.

Yeah, what's on tap for the "new" season, SEVENTEEN "new" Cop Shows?
I thought those people out in Hollywood were supposed to be "creative?"

It's all downhill since the end of  The Wire

fluffypet61 -> RE: Here is why nothing on TV is worth a look (3/9/2010 11:33:15 AM)

i haven't even had/owned a TV in my apartment for 6 or 7 years.  The last time it was on it was on the weather channel.  The picture was the same as the sky outside my window.  i said to myself...you're paying $50 a month for that!!!!!

heartcream -> RE: Here is why nothing on TV is worth a look (3/9/2010 11:39:20 AM)

I got my tv for Christmas when I moved back to Canada. I dont pay for tv so I get a few channels. I admit to having learned lots of things from the tube. I really do love documentaries for one thing.

I am not into cop shows or horror shows, many shows hold no interest but it is not all shite. There are some shlocky shows I like. I havent seen Monk in so long but that show is/was cute for example.

As far as news I have never felt it was properly polarized to actually show what is really going on. There are some better balanced shows that do unearth a bit more of what is going on.

Commercials mostly make me want to rant. I really do appreciate a well done commercial though.

You're just now figuring this out?

Here's a newsflash... all advice, everywhere... from anyone on any subject... is biased.  Advice is an opinion and will be skewed either by personal interests or lack thereof.

This does not invalidate the advice, nor validate it.  What weight you give someone else's opinion should be determined by the value you place on that person... and the value you place on the consequences of following that advice.
