I've done real life for longer than I'll admit, but never spent any time in chat lines, and this type of forum.I got tired of the , "Aren't you on-line?" So, I've dropped in to see what the attraction is. Glad I did. I've met some nice people, witnessed some good discussions.

It's not that I haven't been on line forever, Show of hands for 300 baud acoustic couplers. OK, thought so - newbies.

I'm on line quite a bit, I moderate ~ 40 Japanese Bondage groups, and active in several others, just never a meet & greet site.

I'm married to my SAM. We are active in the local community. We coordinate one of the larger groups around - 100 - 140 at the monthly social.

I'm heavily into Japanese style bondage. Also do impact play, and most kinks except bodily fluids, fire, and needles.

I'm called Robert, Whiterabbit goes back to childhood crush.

I would like to learn more rope tricks from that style..... if only there was a school for rope tricks, and tips !

I've only ever done it once and all I can say is ... It was WONDERFUL ... It was like the ropes became an extension of his hands and suddenly that meant that his hands could be touching me everywhere all at once ... I've never felt so safe and so perfectly in tune with anything in my life. He told me I 'phased out' on him after about a minute or so ... I don't remember the details of the scene itself. It was just that good ... I just remember feeling like I was being touched, held, caressed all over my body and I could just let go completely and become nothing but sensation.

Now mind you, this was his first time ever doing something like this ... So sometimes I sit here and think ... If he, as a first timer, was that good ... What would it be like with someone who's actually studied it? Hmmm ...

Japanese Rope bondage is popularly called Shibari. Which is a word the Japanese would never use.

It focuses on form. So the finished ropework by itself is pleasing to the eye, not to mention the maiden trapped within.

For some bottoms the rope work itself is the whole scene. I have actually had bottoms orgasm with no stimulation other than the bondage itself. It takes some conditioning for that. Many more can go to subspace from the confinement and the feeling of security.

It can also be used for impact play. By controlling where and how the bottom can move the impact (flogger or crop) becomes more intense, without the freedom to move the bottom becomes more focused. Wax with bondage is another great combination. Again the poor bound bottom can not escape the wax so it becomes more intense.

Another common element of Japanese Bondage is suspension. This is edge play, someone can get permanently hurt if it is not done properly. Here again the total helplessness, but within the safety of the rope web is a real trip.

There is a rope college, it is called Shibaricon, it is in Chicago Memorial Day Weekend. We aren't supposed to post links but a quick google of Shibaricon should find the home page. Essentially anyone who is somebody in the rope world will be there.

Many of the events around the country are adding a couple of bondage courses. If you ever get a chance to attend a Midori or Jimi Tatu course grab it.

Shibari is one of the areas of rope play I would love to explore, but...it is a little overwhelming personally. It is very precise and seems to be the sort of thing that require a mentor to learn, which I have yet to find. Barring that a series of seminars, which I am sure exsist, but as a student am limited in attending.

Hmmm...5 hour drive or so... going to have to google that one.
