My God, LadyE!........................  You are a fucking BRILLIANT individual!

Well, I do keep telling everyone. But no one listens. Its nice that you get it now though, so maybe there's hope. Its come at just the right time actually, 'cause I was just thinking of suicide bombing Oxford Uni, you know, to make the point of how damned clever and wise I am? That'll show 'em.

You're just another Muslim basher. Totally unoriginal, and frankly, quite offensive, underneath all the flowery rhetoric. Idiot.

While you, Kitten, are an apologist for murderers, wife-beaters and beheaders (the non-consensual sort) and every manner of 12th century inhumanity promoted and exercised by the fanatics of that faith.

You should be ashamed of yourself, but I doubt you are capable of it.

Now respond in French, so you can feel smug and superior.

Sorry Rich, Kittin is away, I'm replacing her. In response to your request:

Ferme ta gueule!

So, you're saying that identifying oneself as a muslim does not sometimes engender animosity, no matter whether you're from Saudi Arabia, or Asia or the US?

Um.....I don't think we read the same post.

kittinSol -> RE: Friend or Foe - American Jihad (3/11/2010 9:02:28 AM)

He was expecting vindication for his rant, so when he got a cogent argument instead, he lashed out - note: he didn't lash out at the others who made the same point I made. He's angry, and wants to have everyone generalize alongside him about "Muslims', deliberately ignoring the fact that "Muslims" do not a single nation make, and do not think in unison about the issues that so affect him: too much Limbaugh, I think *sigh*.

As in, "Muslim Community", since kittin took such umbrage at a term that is used constantly in the media.

Again, Muslim community.. do I need to search the internet for you to demonstrate it is a term well used among both left and right publications?

Angry, I'm not. In fact, it is kind of funny. In the protections of religion and religious venues, you've quite well demonstrated all over these boards that there is one worth hating and despising, while everything else falls under the tolerance and acceptance mantle. In some ways, kittin, you are the poster girl for that mantle's shortcomings.

And therein is the logic loop you tie yourself with often.

But if you like, I'll hunt up some of your favorite sites and pull that phrase out for you. Then again, the logic stands. For those who do hate muslims, doesn't matter which country you call home nor which brand of the religion you practice. You're lumped into one category, much the same as some do Christians here.

kittinSol -> RE: Friend or Foe - American Jihad (3/11/2010 10:54:57 AM)

Why are you so angry [&:] ?

StrangerThan -> RE: Friend or Foe - American Jihad (3/11/2010 12:51:09 PM)

lol, angry? Not anywhere close to it.

Have fun. I'm going to go practice doing evil things to my woman all weekend, take her to a play, dress her up, spank her on the side of the road, engage in a mind fuck or two, pull out the bindings...

you know, do what folk of this ilk do.

Now that was a generalization. If it offends, my apologies in advance.

Of course there is condemnation from Muslim governments on some acts. On others however, there is not. Nor did I mention the US as being apologetic or specifically did I say that anyone needed to be apologetic. What I said was condemnation. Its different. Many countries in the world condemn acts done by both their citizens and citizens of other countries. The US is good at doing that.

But then, this isn't about the US. The only mention of the US in the entire post was that there is more condemnation here over something offensive often than there is of murder in some of these places.

Seriously - I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Your opening post was at least coherent (though weak all the same).

What "Muslim community"? Muslims are as divided as Christians. Who speaks for all Christians? When have all Christians expressed collective regret through a single entity?

Islam encompasses hundreds of millions of people of different factions in hugely diverse countries. When you deplore that there is no universal condemnation of terrorism by Muslims, it's because they don't have one person or one body to voice it for them.

Your post is disingenuous: you're trying to sound all tolerant and shit, but underneath the pretty words, it's the same old xenophobia as always.

So, you're saying that identifying oneself as a muslim does not sometimes engender animosity, no matter whether you're from Saudi Arabia, or Asia or the US?

You know, sometimes you're just an idiot.

That's two idiots then because I'm looking at this and thinking: "is this English?....yeah it's English....but what's this lad talking about?....identifying oneself as a muslim? engender animosity?......does he really mean that a religious view begs derision?" If so....it's an idea with merits and limitations......like any other idea.

Moonhead -> RE: Friend or Foe - American Jihad (3/11/2010 2:14:44 PM)

All we can really hope for is that if somebody believes in something they'll seek out other people who share their beliefs and stay out of everybody else's way. Is that too much to ask for?

The best explanation I can come up with is that he's using a prank English phrase book like in Monty Pythons Flying Circus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YYM209GJoE

Careful, old man. You're sounding more and more like an Afghan warlord on a mission to subjugate women [sm=shame.gif] .
