Well, my best guess is that it's because collarme is pretty much run by volunteers. Do you know how much policing they'd have to do in order to nix all the pro dom profiles, both in existance and being created on a daily basis? It's not even an option to have them list themselves as Pros...there'd still be policing to do. I'm sure collarme would love the help if someone would like to volunteer.

It's also a free country. We're blessed that we don't have to pay attention to things we don't like. We're also blessed to have a community where we can offer services to those who might be interested.

there are so many threads about this subject...i know...i've been cussed out on most all of them for my opinions. (look them up, i won't re-post here)

i would love to volunteer to police that aspect of the site, but i'm certain others would hate me even more.

as for it being a free country, as some tend to suggest...according to ProDommes...it's $XXX.XX an hour...LOL

It would probably help if you could define "like-minded".  Although you should be aware by now, perhaps you close your eyes to the fact that many boys think they are approaching a Domina with a "like mind" when what they are doing is expecting freebie playtime (also referred to as "training") and often not even interested in meeting for coffee real time.  The instant messenger and web cam is good enough for them.
So don't begrudge the Pro Dominas.  I don't and I am also one on a very part time basis.  It is funny how quickly a boy can qualify his undying affection and willingness to "serve" when it doesn't suit his convenience, or his wife's for that matter.
And please don't mix up the actual Professional Dominas with the "send tribute!" gals.  I am seeing that a lot lately.

Pro Dommes are part of the community, too. I see nothing but a discriminatory bias against them from those who don't want them posting on the boards. If they're advertising and trying to get clientele, that's a different story, but there are a lot of pro dommes who post here that are telling stories that are no different than those who don't charge.

By the same token, if the desire is to force pro dommes from posting, we should be just as vigilant against anyone who has ever seen a pro domme. Then we can have discussions between the two tumbleweeds still present on the boards.

Awww... pity him. He's just peaved that he's been rebuffed by us ladies for showing us that he only seeks one thing... and if you give it to him, do yourself a favor and charge him for it. If he had an honest intention one when approaching us lifestylers he wouldn't be soooo worried about getting his fetishy needs met. It kind of comes with the territory.

A pro Domme and a sub willing to pay tribute seem to be of 'like mind' to me.  Says I: let 'em come here to find each other.

Anyway, if this is an aspect of this site that does not please you, perhaps you should ask for your money back! (I demanded double my money back, and two times zero is exactly what I got ;) )

Why are married/involved people also allowed on here?
Why are boys whose profiles are all about their fetish wants allowed?
Why are there people who don't live in my geographical location allowed?
Why are men under 6 foot tall allowed when I like men taller than that?

Get the picture?

*laffs*  I think the operative word here is "willing"...I think the realistic words would be "Huh? I thought this was all free and I found a great place to hook up with kinky Ladies!"
Most of them don't seem to be willing, which is why I asked for a definition of "like-minded"! I would guess that about 5% or less of the mail I get is honest about interest in a Pro session, because they are married, or traveling on business, etc.  I would also guess that a good 80% or more of the mail I get is from marrieds or newbies, or kinky bottoms looking for a free experience, and they will be "coming to town next month."
Yeah, yeah, I admit it...I am so tired to this complaint.
Good to see you posting again, fergus! I have missed your cute face and your thoughtful words.

Has it ever occurred to you that professionals might need friends too?

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaany years ago, I ran a personal ad site for the BDSM and fetish community together with my partner PrinceSitri, formerly known as the Moonman. He was the one who started the whole thing even more years ago. It became a very large site, at it's peak one of the largest free BDSM personals sites on the net.

We had a policy of keeping professional players off the site and it became an impossible task. No matter what you write in the terms and conditions you simply can not police everything. You can appoint moderators, you can do spot checks in the site mail database, you can disallow people to post their email addresses to others in the mails but there will allways be those who get around it.

You therefor have two choices when you run a site like this; either you decide to allow advertising as long as it is done in the open (which became our choice) or you start charging for the use of the site since you are going to spend 5+ hours a day just plowing through profiles and mails.

Our reason for not wanting pros advertising was that we funded the site ourselves. At the time we paid out around £300 a month for hosting, scripts and so on - on top of this add the 5+ hours a day we spent running it. Every day of the week. We simply felt it was unfair that others would raise revenue from our work without bringing something back in terms of work or value.

On this site the professionals seem to bring a huge value to the discussions in terms of experience and knowledge. Why not treasure that horded experience instead of shunning it?

Wow, hmmm... well... I'm not a prodom but I do operate a fetish business. I'm also a lifestyle player and have been for many many moons. I have my own websites and venues. This doesn't mean I don't include my sig whenever possible or support my projects, however I enjoy coming here, meeting people & networking with old friends.

I think there needs to be a balance. Drive by spam is wrong no matter what site you're on. I think that pro's can offer excellent advice and many are interesting people.

There is an area in this forum for businesses and professionals to post to.

It's not all about you.  Pro doms are just as much a part of this "community" as you are, so suck it up.

Personally, I wonder why stupid whiny people are allowed on.  It would be a much nicer place of we could turn them away at the gates but I don't suppose that's going to happen any time soon.

Not all of us can follow your RAY OF SUNSHINE approach to the MB or your deep, comprehensive-humanitarian understanding of others' soulful complexities. On the bright side, at least this guy's not callously throwing around the term "she-male," bruising the egos of the erstwhile TSs who might populate this MB.

Hopefully on some idyllic day in the future, this MB will resemble a BDSM LION IN WINTER, and then you might pen some words of contented satsifaction before biting into some miscreant poster's throat.

Eh? May I have a translation of that into a form suitable for the slow-witted, please.

I do believe cloudboy was trying to chastise stef's postings on other threads.  I get the impression he doesn't cares for her razer sharp typing fingers.  I personally usually find her posts refreshingly frank and humorous.

There is irony, because its not often STEF makes a positive contribution herself, but she's quick to decapitate other's who cross a line or otherwise make a dunderheaded comment.

I'm not against Stef's comments. She's a good read, and that's the highest compliment you can pay anyone on a MB, but she ain't no guiding light or soft touch in whatever she says.

As for me, I was just spouting my usual, pouty, jibberish. I'm surprised anyone could understand it.
