I'm a huge Twitterer, because I'm a news junkie and it's breaking every minute, and the Repubs have done a great job of utilizing this social media. Thing is, Twitter is about individuals and yet, you can tell when they "get the memo" in that they all Tweet the exact same thing, with the exact same language. They're not "people with their own biased partisan opinions" they are sheeple spouting the party line. Happens every single day.

But the fact that so many conservatives have anointed them the standard bearers of American conservativism - not just the militant rank-and-filers waving their poorly-spelled protest signs, but major political figures up to and including the chair of the Republican National Committee - puts the rest of you conservatives in the uncomfortable position of having to explain them nonetheless. The fact that a significant number, and perhaps even the majority, of your party have proclaimed them to be spokespersons for your cause directly affects the credibility of all conservatives. It may not be the cross you chose to bear, but it's the cross your own ideological leaders deliberately placed upon you.
