Perhaps women need to be sick-n-twisted to be attracted to me.[;)]

I think that is absolutely ridiculous that women have to worry about what they're wearing just in order to ensure that we'll be taken seriously. That's enough to drive anyone crazy. And it's a crying shame.

I 100% agree.

LOL, fair enough!  I wasn't talking about everyone, yanno.  However, I can give you examples to support my position.  My first longterm girlfriend was gorgeous, and also a child prodigy, first enrolled in college at the age of 12.  She would often tell me she wanted to be a "sexless scientist," and dressed in ways that would minimize her cleavage and her hourglass, so men would listen to what she was saying instead of looking at her chest.

That does not mean she was crazy, that makes men assholes because she had to alter her appearance to get respect for what she had to say. I experienced this quite a bit when I was younger. I was treated like I was brainless because I have blond hair and big boobs... the issue wasn't mine, it was theirs. Maturity has lent me credibility that I did not used to have, but I remember very well what it was like to get gawked at even when I was wearing overly large tshirts and sweat pants with a pony tail and no makeup. It wasn't a conflict with wanting to be "sexless", it was wanting to be taken seriously.

Valyraen -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 11:11:24 AM)

Does hot trump crazy? Not a fucking chance, for me at least. My first ex was physically quite attractive and completely off her bloody rocker. Having had that experience, I wouldn't go near her with a ten-foot pole with a condom on it. No physical attractiveness can compensate for the drama and stress that someone mentally unbalanced causes for me.

Now, Kitten... she's a little quirky, and equally a hottie (I should hope so, I married her!). I'm much happier with her than I ever was with my first ex. Sex is a lot better in this relationship, too.

Sserpentia -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 4:58:29 PM)

I've had both hot and crazy women. I wouldn't change my experiences with either one.

In one sample, people with eating disorders scored significantly higher than average on IQ tests. People with bulimia, but not anorexia, had higher nonverbal than verbal scores.

There's a really tasteless (heh heh) joke hiding in there somewhere between the bulimia and the non-verbal.

Well thank heavens for us brainy ugly chicks.  We balance out the world.  [;)]

Is it wise to keep dating a hot girl even though she is clearly insane?

No . . . . is she cute? Give her to me.

LOL...you are so sad....LOL

Just keep an eye on the Vicky Mendoza Diagonal and you should be fine.

DrkJourney -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 6:03:22 PM)

Can kind of relate...I've been around a lot of guys that have had in depth conversations with my boobs.  If I could've walked away and just left them there, they wouldn't have even noticed that I had left....lol

DrkJourney -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 6:09:05 PM)

OMG...I remember that one....lol

girlygurl -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 6:09:29 PM)

No, it doesn't trump crazy. Crazy begats drama, been there done that. I just don't like the drama no matter how hot they are or how good they are in the sack.

thornhappy -> RE: Does hot trump crazy? (3/15/2010 6:09:58 PM)

You need a set of hooters like the woman who crushes beer cans with 'em.  Then you could flip 'em up and give the guy a nosebleed!

The cute ones are always crazy.
So, what kind of crazy is she ?

I don't know whether you were kidding, but I've actually found this to be true.

Well... i've given this advice to a lot of folks. And i've expirienced it first hand. i seem to have a soft spot for crazy, others call it a magnet...

Another bit of advice i've given; " We are all flawed, some on the inside, some on the outside, most are both. Even though it's hard to find any fault in the beginning of a relationship, it's best to try to reckonize these faults when you see them. "

A few mental quirks here and there aren't dealbreakers in my mind. Goddess knows i wouldn't have any relationships otherwise.

But if someone is bringing pointless drama into an otherwise peaceful life,,, well that's another matter. There is a chance you can work past it, if the relationship is strong enough. But the reality is that no matter how much you try, things may not change at all.

I agree. I want to have deep and meaningful intellectual conversations with a woman dressed either as a clown-or a baby. I'm not sure which yet.
