Hmm... notice that none of the choices call for a system that moves towards no tax.

Read Article Here...

Where precisely would the money for essential government services come from under a system with no taxes?

what exactly is "essential" government services

Well, the US did manage without an ongoing federal income tax until 1913. But I'm not suggesting that we move backwards in time.

I'm suggesting that we could move towards a tax-free society by morphing into a resource-based economy.

Of course, there is a formidable status quo composed of vested interests that will fight tooth and nail against change, as well as an indoctrinated population filled with thousands, perhaps millions of self-appointed guardians of the status quo.

However, the fact that previous attempts at social change have failed is no justification for us to stop trying. The real danger lies in complacence. The only limitations to the future of humankind are those that we impose upon ourselves.

"resource based economy"? Really?

See if this sounds familiar to anyone, all goods and services would be held as common property of everyone and distributed as needed. IOW its communism with a fancy new label being peddled to gullible conpsiracy theorists.

It will never happen as long as politicians from both parties continue to spend money like drunken sailors. (sorry popeye). It would be nice to see more money in everyones pocket instead of the federal govt getting more and more every time we turn around.

And it will never happen when nearly 1/2 the population pays no taxes and votes the wealth transfer party back in.

Show me one person that doesnt pay taxes of some form... or have them paid on their behalf.

One reason is that most people don't have the patience, persistence, and fortitude to see that position through. And even if accomplished, one has a perpetual threat looming above them.
