Exactly, MsHV.
Personally, I can't shift my head past the non-BDSM idea of a Mistress or Goddess. These weren't/aren't paid by the slaves/servants/worshippers. (In fact, in the case of Mistress/servant, the Mistress pays the servant.) Goddesses, of course, don't need payment on account of they're Goddesses and can just magic up whatever they need. So, to me, paying for financial- or pro- domme services really would be that - paying for services.
But financial- or pro-dommes like Miss Arialandre and her client(s) (want of the appropriate word) are able to see it a different way. So, while this 'exchange of energy' idea is drivel to me, it feels plausible for them. Good luck to them if all parties are happy.
