Have to just go with the flow here...

Life is our time on earth, lifestyle is how we choose to live it.

i realized after the fact that i posed this as sort of a 'zen' question... not intentionally... i just am never very wordy... maybe the question is 'were Yyou born as Yyou are today or did Yyou 'choose' it (in the BDSM context)... if you are a slave/submissive... were you born a slave/submissive or did you later in life 'choose' to be one... if You are a Dom/me/Master/Mistress... were You already predisposed to be as such, or did You at some point make a conscious choice about it?  Or did life as Yyou lived it choose it for Yyou?  (geesh i hope i'm making some sense here).

Firstly, to your OP I do live it as a lifestyle as I have My own methods of Domination and set preferred per My instructions, she has duties to Me, aside from her family and health she is My property no question about it and while not always sane, certainly safe and most consensual *grin*. Secondly, was I born this way? No. Being Dominant in My view can be part of nature, being a learned Dominant in this lifestyle is another subject as it is a studious and ongoing endeavor regardless of orientation in the lifestyle spectrum.

Is there a difference?

Got to go with you Bita on this one,,this would be my interpretation..Tempting
Life is what I'm doing.. lifestyle is how I'm doing it.

BitchCat -> RE: Life or Lifestyle? (4/6/2006 5:50:53 AM)

I agree with life being the verb/noun/what and lifestyle being the adjective/how. When my friend said "welcome to the lifestyle" I was so baffled because I think of this as something I do for a few hours a week on the DL that doesn't have any effect on how I live my life, values, dreams, ambitions, etc. I treat kink as I do yaoi/movies/riding a bike and going to work (although more enjoyable!). It's something I do - not something that does me. It ain't the USSR.

MHOO314 -> RE: Life or Lifestyle? (4/6/2006 9:14:10 AM)

A great question angelic--

Life: is the breath, the senses, the ability to do--

Lifestyle: is what I do with those things and the result.

It's my opinion that i was born with certain inclinations and desires. However, society being what it is with its own agenda, indoctrinated me into what it wanted. Although i rebelled against society in my own ways, it's only been since entering the world of BDSM that i've been able to identify those original inclinations and desires and embrace them. Now it is an uncovering, a disgarding of what i've learned but is not truly me, and an embracing of who i am - in this, i view myself as submissive as i am fulfilled from pleasing.

Hi Tempting,

I thought I'd send you an email helping you with the "quote" thing.  [image]http://www.collarme.com/htmlarea/smileys/0017.gif[/image]

When you see someone's post you agree/disagree with go to the top of their post.

You will see "Reply", "Quote", "Fwd".

Click on "Quote"

It will bring up a post page with that persons post message.

You can modify, delete anything WITHIN the
marks.

Don't remove/delete this symbol though -
Then you can go underneath the symbol and type Your message/post in relation to it.

If you want add another persons post as another quote...

Right next to the "size" (for your font size) in the post window, You will see "<%", "then a Quote Bubble", "the abc ck mark".

Click on the "Quote Bubble"

In the post window you will see this:

You may now go back to the thread window "copy" the post you want to reference.

If you insert your cursor between the symbols you can "paste" the additional quote you'd like to share.

Be sure that you include: "original: (eg. acctonthelook)" AFTER the first quote symbol to give credit to that person.

Then you can go underneath the symbol and type Your message/post in relation to it.

Hope this helps you or anyone feeling lost.  [;)] Also sent you an email of this for keeps. [:D]
