I recently moved from Boston to Minneapolis and am having a hard time finding high quality ropes for ropeplay. My primary concern is safety and comfort of the person being tied, but I have a few requirements.

1- Non-absorbant...I don't like the idea of microbials growing in the ropes, just not the right kinda kinky o.0

2. seperate core from outer winding- 2 piece roping, so the outside can slip from the core, for non suspensions

3. no neon colouring in it- just looks tacky

4. flexable- also I double up all bindings (the way I was told was safest for longer term ties)

5. Sent in a non-discript box- I live in a building where I have to pick up packages from the office : /

I have throughly looked into the home depots and such in the area, but am not finding anything that nice. For bonds where the ties may move I generally use Vanicream as a topical lubricant if that matters. Previously I always bought the rope from the big True Value 2 blocks from the dorm, but that is a four hour flight now ><.

~thanks

I use Rainbow Rope as well.  But then, I use hemp.  I don't know how their stock of synthetics is.  I flat out refuse to use synthetics in my ties  so I don't pay much attention to them.

In the few instances where I am willing to use synthetics, I typically opt for kernmantle ropes.  Mostly used for climbing.  They really suck against bare skin, but it's nice to have really strong ropes for suspension purposes.  I find climbing rope at climbing stores.  If you have no such stores close to where you live, you might check out REI.
