According to Yahoo News, Idaho became the first state to fully pass a measure protecting its citizens from the unconstitutional government health care plan Democrats in congress are hell-bent on passing. Some 37 other states are also working on similar legislation. One has to wonder if the rogue socialists in Washington D.C. give a whit about what the American people
think anymore.
From the Idaho State Journal, Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter said the legislation he signed is a clear expression from his state that the people of Idaho value their state sovereignty.“Congress and the White House are working out their scheme for pushing through a healthcare ‘reform’ bill that has more pages than the U.S. Constitution has words. I guarantee you that not a single member of the House or Senate has a complete understanding of that legislation any more than they understood all the implications of the USA PATRIOT Act back in 2001,” Governor Otter said. “What the Idaho Health Freedom Act says is that the citizens of our state won’t be subject to another federal mandate or turn over another part of their life to government control.” South Dakota had three such bills in the legislature this year. Unfortunately, two of the three were voted down in committee, but a third was supported by both the state House and Senate.
The resurgence of states asserting their rights under the Tenth Amendment over the past year has been heartening after so many years of the federal government treating the states like servants to take care of the “small stuff” that was beneath their lordly attention.
If the socialists in the federal government are paying any attention at all, they’ve been getting the shock of their lives as we’ve seen the Tea Party movement explode from among the American people over night, with town halls on fire with patriotic fervor and states rallying against federal intrusion where the U.S. Constitution forbids it.And if they succeed in ramming through this health care assault on the freedom and rights of the American people, they’re in for an even bigger cold bucket of reality to hit them in the face on Election Day this November.
