Good Intentions
my intent is not to hurt you,
my intent is to make you feel good,
my intent is to make you smile.
No matter what.
even if I hurt inside,
even if I go without,
even if I cry when you turn around and leave,
even if I fall against the door and crumble to the ground.
you have become my world,
the very air that I breathe,
the blood running through my veins.
I have fallen hard,
and I have fallen fast,
too fast for my own good,
too far for my own sanity.
but it is too late for me,
on so many levels,
there is no denying how I feel,
I can't even seem to hide it.
but it gets me nowhere,
nowhere but hurt,
nowhere but alone.
