If the junk in my house reflects me, tools everywhere, bits of motorbike in various stages of restoration, books on all sorts of subjects and half finished silverwork, I guess that is kind of right, it reflects my interests, but about tv, though we may glean what we can about the subject as it is portrayed, tv in itself can create culltures of it's own design. I say this, because of what I understand of the daily diet of soap tv, it comes very close to the mark in some ways, but is totally unrealistic in other ways, those that need to absorb soap culture on a regular basis may even take on the soap view of reality. On the other hand, the popular soap Eastenders, it amazed me the attitude of the people portrayed, they seemed from the soap to be very disagreeable people, people I would not wish to meet, but I have since met real east enders and they are nothing like what this soap portrays and I would go as far as to say, the popular soap Eastenders does the true east enders a disservice in it's portrayal of them, but then, I might have met exceptional people, but I still can't believe people live like that, if they do, and it is indicative of a Briton from the east end of London, I would not blame a foreign viewer, if they viewed and chose to steer clear.
