And now, what you've all been waiting for....... the Gay Dom perspective. LOL!

Born and raised in Chiago, I bought ALL my suits at K & G Men's store - at the time it was a chain, but formed from Mom-and-Pop places.  As above, salesmen wearing KG suits, all were trained in chalking, on-site tailor took about three or four days.

Nobody has yet said, when buying suit, buy shirts and ties to be worn with that suit!  Color/texture/pattern of a shirt can be closely matched/designed at that point.  Salesmen are trained for up-sell on these items and will rarely steer you wrong.  Then wear those combos ONLY.  What's fun is to get two/three shirts and two/three ties ANY combo of which "works."

AND listen to the salesman!!! Not just on current product but for life-long hints.  One thing I always remember is that pattern must "book" at back.  Let's say you've got a pinstripe.  Turn over on flat surface.  Check how the stripes come together on back, central seam.  They MUST look like mirror image or pages of a book...... TOTALLY easy to check and a clear indicator of quality.  (I got a booked suit at a thrift for $7.50 - perfect fit! - I go back, trying to see if donor might have donated something similar.)

Lightweight for summer?  Seersucker is unusual, SUPER-classy, classic.  Pink is difficult to pull-off. Blue-eyed blonds get blue, brown-eyed men get green.  Pale, pale shirt to match.  Tie has always been difficult....... classic is solid color HAND-TIED bow tie..... Oh, and BTW, a bow tie is tied JUST like you tie your shoes.  Black shoes/socks with blue seersucker, both brown with green......

Hats?  Nobody has said a word about hats - yes they ARE coming back - leading edge of fashion, actually!

DAMN!  It's getting warm in here.  Lance must excuse himself to go take care of some..... er, personal business.......

Omg Lance...I meant to put the highlighted comment in my posting. The salesman that helped my sons and I was amazing at picking out the shirts and ties to go with their suits. I'd have never picked the combinations that he did but they were just perfect. Really....the shirts and ties he chose made an ordinary suit into an extraordinary one.

Ha! We have something in common, I love watching a man tie his tie, with the perfect little dimple at the top!! Yum... I am also a fan of tailored shirts w/ cufflinks!!!! There is nothing sexier in My opinion than a man in a well tailored suit, perfectly tied tie, and nice cufflinks!

I actually wrote that I love tying a man up with his own tie but watching him tie it is kinda fun too ;-)

Lance, I was thinking of Seersucker as well, but didn't think they did those anymore. Seersucker also doesn't wrinkle like linen.

Aynne88, I don't disagree about the pleated pants, but I still love how they look on a guy!

Link is to Brooks Brothers seersucker suit - can't get any more classic than that!

ETA: LOOoooove the shirt/tie combo!  As I said, listen to saleman for up-sell. LOL! I would NOT try that tie with anything but a white shirt.  Actually, I like the deep blue tie with white stripes (at side-bar when I was viewing it) better than the one shown on model, but DAMN! Damn! Damn!  er..... once again, Lance must go take care of some personal business - yes, 2nd time in one day..... I must stop looking at these soft-porn sites, er..... suit sites... some gay men make a fetish of the business man doing assistant.  You ladies think you get hot taking the tie off one man... just think about two men, taking the ties off each other... er, gotta go... er, gotta cum.... er..... hard to type with one hand....

Oh what a wealth of good info and advice! TY TY!!

I had a male once who wanted to "move up" in the corporate world, IT guy who really did wear the pens in the short sleeve shirt pocket and had one suit, the one he was married in--a really icky brown thing from Sears.

If anyone has this type of male--it's best to (as above) have the salesman assist in total accesorizing. Do not forget the importance of dress shoes and belt. Once you get it all home... Either sew or tape numbers into everything. Then make notecards of how the suit, sport jacket, trousers, shirt, ties, belt, sox and shoes will match. Use one notecard per "outfit".

When he has to pack for business trips or get dressed in the morning, he can consult his card for assembling himself.

The IT project manager I mentioned who was applying for a top exec spot: The man, who hired him, told him that they had no worries about his qualifications for the job, their only concern had been whether he would "fit" into the executive suite.. would he dress correctly? They tested him by asking him to join them on a business trip. His new wardrobe and his file of outfit cards made the difference. Today of course this would make more sense to be filed in the Blackberry--but you get the idea.

For those who learned how to dress, this might sound so silly. But at least 1/3 (guestimate) of American men have no idea how to dress in a way that flatters them and is appropriate for the occasion. Dressing him up is a good project for a domme with an attractive man who doesn't have the knack of it himself.

Long out of print: (1975) "Dress for Success" - Great for the business wear.... pretty good on casual, beach, formal.  Came out at my age of 25 - it's where I learned the ins-and-outs of cufflinks. LOL!

Wiki says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dress_for_Success_(book)

Amazon.com has updated edition (1988) http://www.amazon.com/John-Molloys-New-Dress-Success/dp/0446385522
for damn cheap (used.)
