Chuck Berry at Magic Mountain in 1982.  And it was a free show, you just had to stand in line for most of the day to get into one of the two shows.

Queen live in Newcastle in 1986. First stadium concert I ever went to, and one tha held me enthralled for the whole time. Freddie Mercury was one hell of a showman, and even now when I hear 'Radio Ga Ga' I instantly recall standing at the back of St James' Park, watching thousands of people clapping and waving their arms in sync.

Spine-tinglingly brilliant.

So many responses depending on the genre and my mood.  Oingo Boingo for sure!!! I was 18 and at their very last show ever....  everyone was dancing and the artistry of the whole ensemble was incredible. 

Panic! at the Disco would be worth doing again if it was the full circus show.  I saw them for that tour but the night before had been dumped by a man I thought was my Him.  So I was depressed, and sad, the show was 60% fun but looking back... It would have been 120% if I had been not so dumped.

There are a very few performers who have "it."  "It" is a personal charisma.  They not only play their music, they play their audience with supreme skill.  Liberace had "it" and now it seems that Barry Manilow was another rare example.

As a teenager i worked as an usher(ette -- yup..they actually said that back in the day..lol) at the Mid-South Colosseum in Memphis for almost 3 years.  i saw some truly awesome concerts, from the British invasion, to Bob Dylan, to all sorts of Do-Ops and classical/easy listening.  i haven't gone to many as an adult, but admit that Barry Manilow had an outstanding concert, as did Leonard Cohen.  What a combination..lol.  i'd willingly pay money to see either again.

I would like to see Children of Bodom again. I saw them in 2008 and they put on an excellent show. I'd like to see Devildriver again as well =]

BUT i have a serious hard on to repeat Tokyo Police Club and Harlem Shakes at The Earl in Atlanta, GA from last year. a twelve dollar show that blew my mind apart, they were so unexpectedly good. and the guacamole at the bar is as delicious as the waiter with the shaved head. :)


One concert I really enjoyed and would love to see again, would be Missing Persons (saw them 1984 in St. Petersburg, FL)  Terry Bozio used a drum kit that was custom built and I've still not seen an electric kit made like that since.  They were very hot at the time and they played flawlessly and strong.  Dale was wearing something provocative as usual (something see-thru but not the plexi-glas bra that evening), but all good anyway...

myotherself's post brought to my attention that I failed to mention Queen in my original list...totally unforgivable.Queen had to be,bar none,the tightest rock show I have ever attended.....Rock music performed with the precision of a Broadway play....and Freddy,rest his soul,was a complete front man...a showman of extraordinary talents with more than enough camp to leave anyone simply awed at the spectacle.

Grateful Dead & The Band @ Canada's Wonderland, it was a benefit for some charity that shipped glasses to Nepal......a chemically enhanced day at an amusement park (you haven't lived till you've ridden a rollercoaster while peaking[sm=hippie.gif]) followed by an absolutely awesome show....when the Band ended their set the crowd kept yelling for more, even when told the Dead were going to come on..and when they all got together and played...fucking amazing!

Loverboy (any show, but especially the umpteen shows I saw on the Lovin' every minute of it tour)

The Slayer, COB, Mastadon, LOG show was GREAT at the Long Beach Arena....  I went alone due to my concert buddy at the time having the flu, and I was not going to miss that....  After the show my car was parked in a corner and there was no getting out. 

So I pulled out my 120 Days by De Sade and read in the parking structure sitting on my trunk.  I can't tell you how many times I was interrupted in the reading by curious lookyloos. 

Fun Fun Fun, I almost missed Mastadon too, but they were intense.
