I wouldn't mention it, except I did want to congratulate them both for joining the ranks of such luminaries as Elvis, The Beatles, Madonna, and, in his own time <which WAS before mine if you're curious> the Chairman of the Board himself, Frank Sinatra, as being labeled the latest threat to America's youth by that <sarcasm to follow> paragon of fair and unbiased journalism Fox News. Seems there are some people who just can't wait to grow up and become old farts.

Have you actually watched the fox clip? Or are you just doing the knee-jerk 'fox is evil' bashing?

Here are some actual quotes from the report that the reporter asked during the interview.

"How is this any different, realistically sandy, from what modana did before her? Ya know, what a lot of artists have done before her to try and titillate and show off a lot of,um, ya know, relevant body parts, to try and get peoples eyeballs on the screen?"

"The argument in favor of this is, its art. Ya know, you may not like it but its art and if you dont like it dont watch it. Dont let your kids watch it. Why should it be baned for everybody?"

"If that can be on exhibt here in manhatian, why cantr lady gaga do this on MTV?"

The reporter also intreptued the guest a few times calling her nieve and saying that trying to ban the video was cencorship.

Yeah. SHAME on that fox news reporter for pushing such fasr right neocon homophobic intelorant victorian minded hatespeach. :-P

If your going to be bashing anyone, bash the guest they had on. Not the reporter for having them on.

Come on.... Sandy Rios isn't a one-time contributor coming it to make the audience wet their pants over the latest public threat to decency. She's a regular, and Fox regularly airs such hysteria junkies. Then, they do exactly what you note there in an attempt to SOUND like they're playing the devils advocate, BUT of course they give these hysterics plenty of time to crush that advocacy. It's not even clever, it's transparent as can be.

Fox has it's place, sure. But it's not journalism. It advocacy for a particular point of view via propaganda. I'm sure you'll counter that all news is, but I'm happy to say that Fox's views of a one-way-of-thinking pablumized world isn't mine. All, of course, IMHO and YMMV.

I don't know about the frequency or infrequency of Sandy Rios as a guest. I don't own a television.

I will go you one better than saying all news is spin. All MEDIA is spin. Isnt Lady Gaga just as guilty as anyone else in this? Do something to piss off the religious right and all of a sudden you get all the free publicity you could ask for. Now, with next to no effort on her part, there are suddenly hoards of people eager to track down and watch the video if for no other reason than to see what all the fuss is about.

For that matter, critics of fox do the same thing as well. They say something negative and get accused of being a smear campaign. They say something positive and get accused of only sounding like they are playing devils advocate but actually are just giving the raving loony a platform on witch to speak. They say nothing at all and get accused of covering things up and trying to bury the story.

The Gaga-critics and the Fox-critics can both use the same lesson. If you dont like what you see then dont watch it. The idiots jumping up and down waving their arms and screaming 'Gaga is offensive' are just as stupid as the idiots jumping up and down waving their arms and screaming 'Fox is offensive'.
