It strikes Me as so very strange that not one person seems to comment on the overwhelming amount of fake profiles and scammers on this site. I love the bulletin boards on collarme but the profile section really needs to be shut down and have some way to verify each entry. Why not just shut the profile section down totally? S

uumm...do a search and you'll find tons and tons of threads about it. Ya know..one person's fake is another person's reality. Then again I'm just a figment of the imagination.

What littlewonder said. But on the side of fairness, the number of fakes is pretty much balanced out by the number of people whose profiles just endlessly whine about 'fakes and wannabes' and then bemoan the fact that they can't find a partner. Odd, that. [8\|]

S It's not an elephant, it's a huge stack of fake profiles and scammers. As the other respondents have pointed out, this is discussed all the time. CM does provide a reporting process, so you can report dodgy profiles - and (i think this is how it works) if enough people report a profile the sytem takes some action on it.

As I noted to one of the last whiners, this site is staffed by a small number of volunteers who simply don't have time to review/ verify 500+ new profiles daily. If the profile side bothers you so much, please feel free to not use it. Hide your profile and ignore your cmail- problem solved. That said, it works for many, so I seriously doubt that the owners will shut it down because its very existence bothers you.

We all understand that your intellect far exceeds all those that have gone before you and using the search function is a pointless waste of your precious time and Godlike powers of observation. Of the 180,000 new members CollarMe gets each month, we are all just assholes and none of the millions that have gone before you ever noticed a single faker, poser, wannabee, weekender, Nigerian scammer, wolf with whip, subby husband trolling, barracuda, tourist or peeping geek vicariously living through our threads and adventures. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and leaping forward without using the search function to post the discovery your unique powers of observation have uncovered. I also think shutting the profile section down is a great idea . . . let's start with yours.
