I dunno, I always thought it was pretty erotic to be standing at the sink, sort of held captive by having your hands in soapy water holding onto dishes while you get groped from behind....

Wow thanks for all the feedback!
I was trying to go the the Lady and the Tramp sort of thing with the spaghetti... but I guess majority rules it isn't such a good idea. If you've never had spaghetti and meatballs... poor deprived child =[

When I think of Indian/Spicy food and dates... Well that movie "Along came Polly" comes to mind, the one with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller... and when they go to an ethnic restaraunt and things end badly. Not romantic.

Seems like Italian food, seafood, and chocolate are popular. Fantastic =] thank you all!

OP,

Have a look at this book if you can find a copy
http://www.amazon.com/Devils-Garden-Sinful-History-Forbidden/dp/0345440161

The author uses the 7 deadly sins as a basis for the book's menus and food history.  Check out the chapter on Lust....Yummm!

Two of the most sensually memorable meals I've enjoyed consisted of finger food...one meal started with a cheese plate with jamon serrano, bits of fruit and a Spanish red wine (drunk from the lips of my dinner companion)...the other was a vegetarian feast where one person couldn't use their hands and had to rely on their partner to feed them using whatever body part worked best.

The food wasn't so important as much as the style of eating.

I always try to use all my senses when eating....every meal/dish can be a sensual experience...including spaghetti!

Pancakes can be romantic.....crepes with cherries and whipped cream........mmmmm.

i vote for a meat main dish - in my experience most men love a great steak, simply prepared........a rib eye seared in a VERY hot cast iron skillet with some simple kosher salt, and then finished with some butter.....bliss.

If you make pasta, make one with bacon, like Guy Fieri's Bacon and Tomato pasta (just use a different shape pasta than the spaghetti): http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/guy-fieri/bacon-and-tomato-pasta-recipe/index.html

Men love bacon. Hee hee!
