The UK spending budget is in reality what Britons are concerned about beyond the ministrations of politicians, as it is what we have to pay extra and rarely less to get the things that we want in life. Whether it is a good budget announcement or a bad budget announcement all depends on a persons own individual requirements and what they want out of life whilst living and paying taxes in this country, it is the reality. Now opposition parties, notably the Tories will be saying various things about the announcement on the run upto an election, in the belief it will help their cause, but what they or anyone who buys into their rhetoric doesn't understand is, we don't care, as it is our lives that are more important than another's vying for power. So my thoughts on the budget as it effects me, is much as I expected, I will be paying more for the things I want, but not as much as has been in other years, so an easy going budget to me, I am not annoyed or pleased, it is a necessity of life and that is that, I could quite easily cut my needs and pay less tax, but I enjoy what I do, so I will continue as funds allow. How has the budget affected you ? Kerr-plunk !

To be honest its all been a bit of a farce. As per usual beer, petrol all rise in price. The real budget wont take place until after the election.

Austerity is the mode of the day for the little people. So yes- this applies to the UK.

One world government wont ever happen. Too many people with conflicting interests. Ahoy there, Mr Pirate, Cider duty to rise 10% above inflation. Fuel Duty has a three pence increase staggered until Jan 1st 2011. Estimates £38 a year fuel increase for diesel owners.

It's good I know someone with their own orchard and cider press, in fact tonight I got invited to try last years produce later this year, when it gets warm enough to camp comfortably. Part time cider producer with a market that extends no further than the village, as it should be. Apples grow, they collect them and press them for fun. In fact, all of us in our circle of friends are brewing this year, anything that can be brewed cheaply, myself both nettle and dandelion beer for it is hoped those warm evenings on the beach with a barby and fun.

As PS53 said, its a farce and the real budget will be after the election, whoever wins, and will see huge cuts and tax rises to sort out the UK economy at the expense of the people, so that the bond markets like us again. Thereafter little or nothing will improve for the man on the street, in fact he's likely to see a reduction in his living standards long term from the next election. At the same time we will see another bubble inflate and the elite will enjoy the ride until it bursts, whereupon we shall again suffer the consequences whilst the FT on Sunday carries ads for cabin cruisers, private jets, fast cars and watches priced at more than average annual wage for the peasantry. You could probably get a Raymond Weill for less than £20,000. Bloody right about the rest, though. Nobody's mentioned the civil service walk out yesterday over this yet, have they?
