As the moon slowly drips
Into the abyss it crawled from
Up comes another in its wake
Heat rises, birds sings, flowers bloom
As memories of spring flings
Precede those of summer romances
Images of lovers lost from latex discrepancies
Peek in my mind like the sun
Slowly clawing up from the horizon
And the heat still rises
This – ball of fire
Now sits atop the sky
Erasing every ounce of shade
Every past event – now
Shines brighter than the noon sun
And soon my soul is scorched
Bubbling blisters begin to form fast
On favored visages of vital thoughts
Destroying and dimming glimmers of happiness
And yet the heat still rises
The sky is now stained in the semblance of sangre
A reminder of several spilt bloods
Over days of pleasure, passion and pain
Now twilight and the night is almost here
I cry for the sky to fade into black
To extinguish all my fears
The blazing sun can be so cruel
Taking me back to times I’d rather forget
And yet I can relax as the sun sets
And the moon slowly rises.
