I would not have wasted a year like Obama did trying to be bipartisan. I guess he had to learn the hard way. So the attacks on Bush were legitimate attacks on policies? Funny, I seem to remember a whole lot of em being on his intelligence, or just out-right attacks of the man. Let's also not forget about all of the civil remarks by our elected officials discussing middle America and their beliefs. To them I say, if you start swatting a hornets' nest with a stick, you should expect to get stung. The call for a bipartisan signing of this civility statement is a joke and merely political theater attempting to misdirect and deflect attention. As Tim stated earlier, welcome to the mid-term election cycle.

It is calling out the minority party and forcing them to publicly affirm their rejection. That's fair enough. But it is indeed election theater. On both sides.
