Coffee is serious business! :)

I soooo agree with you here. Master Tim introduced me to hazelnut coffee and I've been drinking nothing but that ever since....when I can find it [>:]

Really, truly, I don't understand how non-coffee drinkers wake up.

I don't know.  An elf like creature hands me a hot cup a joe at 6:30 am in bed.

But, but, but Master, I'm not talking about Eight O'Clock hazelnut specifically, I'm talking about hazelnut coffee altogether. I've found one place that sells it but geez you would think they roasted the beans one at a time judging by the price. On the other hand, vanilla coffee is everywhere, I guess it's what Montrealers prefer.

I gave up coffee and all products made with coffee beans last fall, my GI tract was having major issues.  Although coffee is \a beautiful thing (sometimes), it is highly acidic and a strong GI stimulant.  I have moved on to tea, although I still love the smell of coffee brewing and I do miss coffee, especially iced lattes.  sadness

Decaf for afternoon and evening:

I don't drink the stuff but have discovered the teen will rise in the morning to follow the scent of coffee. Life is easier so I prep a small pot the night before and press the button ten minutes before his alarm goes off. And he takes it to school in a to go cup.

If I want caffeine, that's what a diet coke with lime is for.

I didn't know that, I've never heard of Keurigs. Maybe you could have explained without the eye roll, yes?

The eye roll wasn't directed at you.  It wasn't even an eye roll.  It was the look I would have on my face after putting all those little grains of coffee one by one into the tiny little hole.  Perhaps I should have used this one?  [8D]

nephandi -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 4:37:57 PM)

Greetings

I mostly drink tea. I for the most part only drink coffee when I am offered a cup at friend's houses and so on. However I do prefer gourmet coffee and coffee made the old fashioned way in a coffee pot on the owen and not with allot of filters and contraptions and the like. I like there to be some of that coffee prouder, I am not sure what it is called, left in the cup when I am done so I can use it for divination.

I wish you well

Fitznicely -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 4:44:17 PM)

I like it plain and simple. Granules...milk...water...drink

Can't bear coffee shops, with all the myriad options....the times I've been, I always feel like Niles Crane. Pretentious baristas, pretentious menu, pretentious coffee.

???

Water heated to steam condenses and drips through the coffee grounds in a filter to keep them from falling through the hole into the coffee.

It's not exactly complicated.

Ah now that makes sense. It didn't seem like you to eye roll at me [:)]  Maybe it's just the grouchiness from not getting coffee that is strong enough? Perfectly understandable [:D]

Who you callin "grouchy"??!!!????

Maybe just a teensy tiny bit.  Thank God for Stok!!

graceadieu -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 8:00:25 PM)

I've got a big regular 'ole coffee maker at my place, plus a little cheapo 4-cup one I got for my Dom's place (he doesn't drink coffee). I'm thinking of replacing the latter with a French press or something, though, since it always tastes a little burnt.

Daddysredhead -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 9:01:58 PM)

My old office used Keurig systems all the time.  Each cup is made one at a time.  The flavor cups are a little bit bigger than a creamer cup that you get at a restaurant.

Here's a link to it.

Musicmystery -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 9:09:05 PM)

That just sounds annoying.

Have the slave make a pot, and drink away!

Daddysredhead -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 9:15:38 PM)

I think your idea is much simpler, MM.  [;)]

ReflectiveSoul2 -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 9:16:38 PM)

We have a 12 cup drip pot and it's usually always on. We set it before bed so we get up to the wonderful fresh coffee smell drifting though the house..... we're both give me coffee or give me death kinda people... We also drink lots of tea's... just turned him onto some of the good flavored ones... so he went and got me a new whistling tea kettle lol.

SirPumpy -> RE: Coffee (3/28/2010 9:45:27 PM)

A subject close to my Heart!

I have 2 DripOlators, a 60's Sunbeam electric percolator, 2 different sized stovetop Espresso pots and I had a plunger till my plunger broke.

I also drink Mc Cafe, Mc Drivethru and Mc Anything, Gloria Jeans and most of the franchised kaffe hauses although the Aussie Starbucks leave me wanting.

But Ive got to say for a quicky caffeine hit (and I luuurv my quickies) I grab my Dog lover extra huge mug, fill it with full cream milk, microwave for 2-2 1/2 Mins and then stir in 2 heaped teaspoons of Nescafe Gold/Blend43/Espresso or a blend of Espresso and one of the other 2.

Anyway, 2 teaspoon, stir well, remove snotty bits and ENJOY!

Sadly this leads to record consumption of Milk at Casa Pumpy when both LadyJ and myself get stuck indoors for whatever reason.

An added benefit is that its virtually uncockuppable by even the most feral of subbies (Although I had one that would slip the odd pube into my coffee from time to time for extra spanking)

Failing that a nice strong cuppa tea (Dilmah brand) actually has more caffeine than a normal cuppa coffee.
