Dear A/all,

After many years of experimenting with anal toys, especially butt plugs, there is still an area that causes some concern. One that i have not been able to change. That is the smell of these toys, especially the silicone versions, after a short period of use. i naturally wash them extensively afterwards and have even place a condom on them, but still no joy. The smell of silicone mised with anal juices is still noticable.
Therefore i was wondering if there are other suggested routes for having odourless toys?

Glass or acrylic toys are non-porous, hypoallergenic, and easily sanitized.  Before throwing out your other toys made from softer material, try giving them a thorough scrub with dish detergent then an overnight soak in a container of warm water to which a few drops of bleach or hydrogen peroxide have been added.  Not too much...just a few drops or you will damage the material.  And continue to use condoms on anything you put in your butt.

I'm expecting you domiguy and Jeffff...bring on the comments about glass toys in the butt ;-)

One of the advantages of silicon toys is that they can be boiled for sterilization. That usually removes any lingering odor.

I remember seeing a mold for making a but plug out of ice (ouch!) once. With that it would not smell as you would make a new one for every use. I do not remember where I saw that mold though.
