dear promoman,
your question/email covers so many issues, I wish you'd left some of it out; for example, the "I treat them with a lot of respect, something they don't find among black men"; that's inapropriate, and feeds into stereotypes... I have dated both black and white, and have found assholes in both. You must realize that submissive (as the world implies) men will tend to be more kind/easygoing/agreeable and less controlling in general (so it's not fair to compare yourself with general black male population).
I understand the words may not exactly have been yours, but passing ignorance on is bad for everybody... By the way everyone, I have a sense of humor, and realize we all have our perceptions of how things are, but had to say something about not wanting black men bashed In General (if a specific jerk wronged you, that's another story).
Now getting back to your basic "why is it....?" Being a full figured woman (a BBW), and a relative novice to BDSM community, sometimes worry about how long it would be safe to do things that cut off one's blood or oxygen supply (because muder is a bad thing, even when having fun). The other potential is that full figured women tend to be less secure in general (because EVERYONE is busy telling us we're too heavy and unattractive), so you should spend time making her feel good about herself when possible.
