If all i wanted was to feel useful to someone, i'd volunteer at an old age home or something. Of course i want something -- actually quite alot -- but part of what i want is the proper Man to please; to see the pleasure or relief or just plain happiness in His eyes and know i helped Him feel that way.

There's a reason wiiwd is generally called power exchange. Would you rather the standard answer from the thread about what people get out of submissive, "I do it because it fills a void in me"? If you considered what you quoted to be selfish, then wouldn't submitting to fulfill yourself be equally selfish? There's a give and take in any relationship, it's just more pronounced in BDSM. I don't see anything wrong with taking the attitude of, "I keep him happy, he keeps me happy."
