Sanity, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the civil rights act into law. The act, for your information, was started by JFK, and while unpopular with southern democrats, it was something he truly believed in.

Please do not confuse him with actual history....everyone(save for the black community it seems)knows that the Republican party is the party that has fought and strived for the rights and dignity of the oppressed.

Since you (ahem) gentlemen feel a dire need to change the subject from assassins to civil rights history, unfortunately for you the Democrats fare quite badly in that topic of conversation as well. For example, Susan B. Anthony voted a straight Republican ticket. In fact, even a mere casual look back through history proves that the Democrats are Johnny-come-latelys to the civil rights movement, and that Republicans have by and large led the way:
