Ok this is going to sound really wierd because when it comes to technical language I'm lets just say challenged. But while I'm sitting here reading the boards this box pops up the purple writing is where the address would be at the top of my browser then under that it says direct link to this message then below that is the blue address and ubder that is a button that says close window.Who can tell me what this is"?Can you get invited to chat from this side?When just reading the boards ,and better yet why when i push the button that says c lose window nothing happens.Can anyone tell me anything?

ll of these message have an anchor point to a specific post within the realm of the bigger page of a thread. We use these direct links when we want to reference a particular post within a thread.

These messages should only pop-up if you click on the link with the post number. They should not automatically pop-up.

Are you doing something to pop this message up? If it is happening automatically, you might have something wonky going on with your browser or even a malfunctioning mouse that clicks when it's not supposed to. Is your anti-virus up to date?

Hi LadyAngelika,I had to restart my computer to get rid of said box,I agree something is really wonkie .I got to the post via my email for the things i subcribe to on here.It tells me where to click and connects me to the post and never had this before.Maybe I'm having a blonde moment . Yes my anti virus is up to date that much i get and stay on top of any updates needed are done.And actually this mouse is only a month old because i got tired of having to clean the ball thing on the other on.(excuse my technical jarginor lack there of).I did click on the link but all it did was make the page i was looking at go blank and i could get rid of the damn box either hence having to just reboot my system.So I don't know what I did but have a call into a friend who lives for stuff like this so he can lecture me on why I should know more about the inner workings of a system or talking asbout things like "ball thing on a mouse".So guess if I don't figure it out he'll call back once he wakes up.Thank you for your response it is appreciated,was afraid noone would answer or someone being a sarcastic would try and bestow their opinion.Maybe I'm just wonkie and spread it to my system..Thanks again for trying to help,have a nice Easter.

You should have been able to close the box by clicking the X in the upper right corner, or by holding down the ALT key and tapping the F4 key one time.

To get the box, you had to have clicked on one of the items circled in the picture below.
