I ran into a "One True Way"er the other day. I was surprised. I've known this person in chat for quite some time. I've met them in person at dungeon functions once or twice. I was shocked. I'd no clue I personally knew any of the "One True Way"ers. A young femsub (we'll call her kit) who visits the room in which we chat said that her Dom lets her sass back to him.. that he finds it funny. The "One True Way" sub immediately told kit that her Dom wasn't a true Dominant or Master and that kit wasn't a true sub. I asked the "OTW" sub how she determined that kit's Master was neither a Master or a Dominant. She tole me that No Real True Dom would put up with that from his sub. That it was disrespectful and rude and she couldn't believe that kit claimed to be submissive. That her claiming submission disrespected all real true subs everywhere.. That she was a bottom maybe, but in no way a TRUE submissive. I tried to point out to "OTW" that kit said her Dom liked it, and how does it make it dominance breaking thing if he enjoys her doing it. I was told that it just did. I tried to reason with "OTW," asking how it made someone less Dominant to do exactly what they want? I pointed out that it didn't make a Domme any less Dominant to give her sub a blow job if it is what she wants and she retains control of the act. That sent her into a bit of a tizzy. A Dominant would never... eye roll When she wound down some, I asked her how Dominant it made someone to follow the rules set out by others. Well, that doesn't make a Dominant in either of our opinions. I mentioned that if someone who had a playful streak and enjoyed banter with their sub listened to "the way it is done" and altered their play style to fit in, they were no longer Dominant. They'd subbed to the will of those who say how it will be done. It isn't Dominant to do what everyone expects of you. It is Dominant to be in control and do what YOU want. "OTW" felt that was fine and good, as long as they "*acted Dominant." deep sigh* Needless to say, I did not manage to convert the "One True Way"er. I was disheartened to find One True Wayism so close to home.

Good story. Honestly, I find it amusing to have a OTW, and horrific that one would be so blatantly rude about it. I guess the energy that goes into keeping all reality and logic from their brain also short circuits the "keep your stupid ideas to yourself" switch.

OTWers tend to get a bit pissed at me.... something to do with me laughing at them so openly I suspect. That holds true wether its D/s, BDSM, paganism or whatever. There is only one OTW that is applicable to me and mine.... MY way.... and its ONLY applicable to me and mine. Anything else is mearly opinion and can be taken or ignored as appropriate by the person the opinion is shared with.

My opinion about My life is all that matters, I tolerate others, I expect the same--in fact that's one reason I am not popular in the community here, they are predominantly Dom oriented and I believe that Dominance is gender neutral. smiles

That had to be so frustrating. You did all You could but after a while it is like arguing with a mule isn't it? Your way is the OTW for You as Mine is for me but from reading Your posts You seem open minded enough that Your OTW is flexible enough to change as You learn new tecniques, I constantly "steal" from other Tops male and female every one brings something unique and I often find a method amusing enough to give it a try and add to My OTW. Orthodoxy and fixed attitudes always have a way of looking ridiculous if you give the people that hold them enough space. Unless they are fundemental religionists with Armalites or Kalashnikovs that is. Well they still do look ridiculous but one doesn't want to give them space!

My question is how would this OTW sub know what a Dom would or should do? She isn't dominant so she'd have no way of knowing. A Dom/me does what they want to do and if he likes the sassy attitude that his sub has then as long as he is happy (and she) who cares? I cannot abide these holier than thou types who think their way is the ONLY way. She needs to start thinking outside of the box, that is IF her Dom allows her to think. Maybe thats the problem right there...[&:] She's not intelligent enough to think on her all she knows is what she's spoonfed. ~Lashra

i personally think that there a multiple of ways within BDSM it's all how you and your Dom/Domme are. Some though have a more stricter way of being taught, and this must have been taught, honestly she makes me feel like she has been trained in gorean, duue to the fact that in Gor a sub Never sasses the Dom or it could earn them quite a heavy punishment. Then again thats just my thinking, and many Goreans call Gor "the one true way" thats what sparked my oponion. i may sound completly senseless right now lol. But, i do think "OTW" handled herself wrong, as it is not her place to decide who is who and what is what, and in any case she overstepped her bounds this way. To each his own. Honestly i would not sass my Protector or i might get punished. But, at the same time i still have a voice to be used properly with manners of respect. This is just my perspective on this.

Maybe, but then again i have seen gorean trained girls who are taught, anyone that does not go by Gor are not true, and thus they do not listen. i had a friend who trained Her submissives in this manner.

Maybe you should have a chatwith Ol' IronBear there..... He might give you a somewhat diffrent impression of the Gor lifestyle....... like many things there are elements that give it a bad rep!
