Out of curiosity ,have any of you Master's ever lost interest in the lifestyle or just seemingly got distracted by non lifestyle things enough that the lifestyle takes a back seat for awhile?

How did you get yourselves back on track or back into the life fully?

Uh yeah... I call that "life". I mean come on, let's be serious here. When significant life events happen they are going to occupy your attention and focus. I can guarantee you that when Carol and did an international move, the dynamic was still there, but heavily muted in the hubbub of all the crap that had to get figured out and done.

We got ourselves back by being focused on getting it back. No mystery, no tricks. And we did it together.

I've lost interest in women who proved to be "pita" drama whores.

Yes. i had a former play partner lose interest in bdsm. He used to come over every once in awhile to tie me up and spank me, and then one day He said "I think i'm going to go 'nilla." i said "Wha.....WTF!?" But that was a long time ago and He's still waffling. lol lol

I haven't ever lost interest in being submissive to him...it's my personality towards him, it's who I am....can't lose interest in your personality I don't think....but I have lost interest in the physical play stuff. Life happens. Sometimes other stuff in life takes priority. You just deal with what you have to do and you both try to sneak little things in here and there to remind each other you haven't forgotten.

I can't address the question as posed... Men lose interest, and women do as well.  Their being M types IMO does not affect that.

The stuffing falls out of pitas too easily, and I've was never good at theater, so I guess I'm just a whore. Does that make me interesting??

He spent the last two weeks swapping an engine. I assure you he had zero interest in anything except food and sleep during this.

If it had been something serious like the loss of a loved one, I would expect to see him do nothing with joy until he had done a lot of grief work.

BDSM interest has been wavy since the beginning for me. There comes a period of a few months where I'm very active and then a period of a few months where I'm less active and less interested. I don't get particularly worried during those "lows" since I know that interest and action will probably rise again sooner or later. There are just other things that are usually more important at those times.
But then again I don't view BDSM as the be all-end all of life. I'm happy with or without it.

I do from time to time wonder if the whole (not just CM but everywhere) S&M scene is a waste of time. I keep my balance by reminding myself that I expect slaves to fully become part of my life. This means as sex partners, as professional co-workers, and as day to day companions.

I wish sometimes I could wish the time-wasters into realizing just how much time THEY waste.

there was this one time in band camp . . .
during lunch break . . .
for about 15 minutes, I lost interest in leather while my girlfriend's mother was sucking my cock as my girlfriend watched . . .
I forgot all about the lifestyle for that moment.

My Dom had his best friend move in with and and he told me that his friend has asked us not to "Play" when he was around because it made him "uncomfortable".....  Well, the guy is a part time waiter and is always around.  As soon as my Dom agreed to that stupid stipulationn he choose his friend over our D/s relarionship and stopped being a true Dom.  Our regualr sex life began to suffer as well because now my "Dom" didn't want to make his friend uncomfortable by having sex when he was around.  Our romantic relationship fell apart soon afterward.  I couldn't respect a man who let his roommate dictate our sex life.

I'm kind of in that boat right now. Just when you think you're in control, life has a way of bringing you to your knees, and not necessarily in a good way. But I find that when I do lose interest, it's not a loss of interest in power exchange per se, but more general than that...more like loss of interest in sex and intimacy on the whole...

don't worry about the wine.  It's the weekend, I'd be surprised if anyone here wasn't a bit tipsy.

also for DarkSteven
I lurk a lot and whenever i see a post from you you're either being cool or wise.  If you don't manage to be both at the same time
