It takes 600 years for a drop of water to go from one ocean to the other- it then returns 600 years later.

Don't forget the Gulf of Mexico.  I finally got to see it when traveling to New Orleans.

Me to, heck I could even apply for the short skilled visa to there and it would be good for my fibro with the warm climate...however...knowing what creatures are living over there (and I am not talking about wanders, I am talking about their weird really huge spiders and poisonous ones too) I leave this one on the "never going to happen list" for now

But I do admire Australia...on TV...

I really wouldnt mind the flight itself...but as a kid I suffered from regular nightmares with spiders which I got rid off ones I got over some aspects in my life at that time and I am sure those nightmares would come back once I encounter one of their big ones...also considering that they have little ones which are poisonous I am assuming that they also might be poisonous for my cats...gosh I don't even want to imagine how often I would need a new cat due to them being killed just because they decided to hunt those ones...shudder...nope...australia is one of the few parts of the world which will stay safe from me coming along

I have spent 40some years living on a sand bar five miles out in the Atlantic. Fire Island.

And I've crossed the Panama Canal so I've been to the Pacific.

Plus let's not forget the Great Lakes.

Hmmm...let me get my relocation sorted to NZ or Canada hopefully by end of next year and once that is done I might give it a try....for now I have to get my finances saved up to relocate and avoid far away holidays, as I did a few too many in the last years

and well...I don't doubt that the spiders don't go around every day to kill, but I am concerned considering how my torty girl keeps bringing them inside...and she would not know that they can kill her...they just freak me out with just thinking about them *shudder*

In one show they brought the 10 deadliest creatures (I think it was about deadliest ones) where was one huge spider which the person had to pull out of his heel ones that person was attacked as that spider has different fang at their mouth...I would never be able to pull off a spider from my foot...*shudder*...I do know my limits....but maybe one day...once my life is getting calmer after uni...maybe

I currently have a view of the Susquehanna River.  The views rock. Did you know every 20 minutes it looks different?   the backdrop the wind the hues the movement of sun and moon all effect the nuanced view of it.

Lately tho- I don't take it in.  The car traffic wears on my nerves. We have a flood wall which bombed both sound and crime 24-7 back to me.  I am home day and night- so after 3 years- of course it is going to wear at me.

As a kid we would go boating on Lake Michigan.   So- I hear you on the Great Lakes.

I get really claustrophobic at the ocean.  I feel trapped (no, I'm not kidding).  It's quite an amazing thing, but I'll stick to something I can swim across, thank you very much.

I love being at the ocean.  I find it very calming.  When I first moved to San Francisco, I lived about a mile from the beach.  every night after work, I would take the bus past my house & go sit on the beach til sunset.  I would watch the pelicans flying home after fishing all day.  It was a wonderfully healing thing to do.  I miss the ocean.  But I can look out my sister's windows & see the Potomac, which at least is water.

I lurvz water of all sorts.  Once I lived a block from the ocean, complete with foghorns.  Other times I was within a mile to 7 miles (great view from the Santa Barbara foothills).

I miss them.
