FR: You know, reading some other stuff about the TEA parties, it has occurred to me that this "infiltration" stuff may actually be a good thing for the parties. First, it's pretty evident to anyone who isn't screeching their obvious hatred to and about the parties, that the level of animosity that is being directed towards the party are by people who will never, ever sympathize or support either them or their objectives. But, by their very attacks, their attempts to discredit, and their gang style reactions to the parties, they are actually doing the parties some favors. First, they are giving them attention, and helping people who might not have gotten involved the opportunity to find out for themselves, and increase their supporters. Second, it tends to inculcate a sense of group membership, and strengthen the bonds of belief (the old "us versus them"), thereby strengthening the will and ideology of the movement. Finally, it will likely force the parties to a more centralized organization, with it's own "strike forces" and counter-action plans to discredit the people and organizations who are trying to besmirch, belittle and destroy them. Maybe this "infiltration" crap and the type of hatred and animosity - such as displayed on these very forums - is a good thing, in the long run, if you are a TEA partier, or support their goals. Things to think about, anyway. Firm
