Aren't the Republicans and those independents leaning right supposed to be fiscally conservative? More and more stories are surfacing about their misspending of party and government funds. It started with the $150,000. Palin clothing expenses, then the RNC Hawaii meeting, followed quickly by the Voyeur Club fiasco and now the Florida state party issuing a credit card to an assistant while it appears that a management person kept a dupe card to run up questionable expenses in the underlings name thereby avoiding personal scrutiny.

Then there was Mark Sanford charging the state almost $75,000 worth of travel expenses he had to repay to avoid ethics violations and Sarah Palin's per diem charges while living at home and her family travel expenses on the states dime.

It seems that all they want to conserve is their own wealth.

FTA:
Sansom was indicted last year on charges of inserting $6 million into the state budget for an airport building that a friend and GOP contributor wanted to use as an airplane hangar. During the investigation, it was revealed that Sansom charged more than $170,000 in personal items on his party-issued credit card.

Starting in 2006 and over the next 2½ years, Melanie Phister's American Express was charged $40,000 for a stay at a London hotel ...

There is a difference between wasting taxpayer money that was taken from them without a choice or wasting voluntary contributions. In both cases those people should be voted out in the case of elected officials, and fired and perhaps even prosecuted in the case of voluntary contributions being fraudulently used.

This is a non partisan issue. However, if John Edwards wants to spend $500 of his own money on a haircut, then that's his own business. Let's not forget the most expensive inauguaration in American history either or Obama's trip to NYC for a night on the town with his wife that cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

Are you saying that the whole inauguration was paid for by the government?

Considering the record turnout, it would be more expensive.  The government(s) paid for security.  Private donations paid for the rest, just like in previous administrations.

Wow.  Phister was issued a credit card that was in her name only.  Bigwigs drove charges on the card, she may not have even seen the statements. It's clear that she was used to hide expenses...

well a good place to start is to realize that for all their blowholing, republicans are not ever gonna be nor have ever been good with your money and fiscally responsible.
