lexxxie -> What should I look for in a dom? (4/13/2010 11:48:50 PM)

I'm pretty new to the BDSM scene. I'm a sub and am looking for my first dominant, preferably a Mistress.

What qualities should I be looking for in a dom?

A decent human being.

What qualities do you look for in a 'nilla lover? Searching for an M type really isn't so different, imo.

Somebody who first and foremost you can be a friend with, are attracted to and WANT to be with.

it's no different to finding a regular boyfriend.  Weigh your options carefully and take your time to get to KNOW them first.

You look for what you want.  It's no different to finding any partner.

1. Do you enjoy spending time with her?
2. Do you trust her to act in your best interests?
3. Do you feel attracted to her?
4. Does something about her bring out the submissive in you?

You should be looking for qualities that you find important in a partner.

lizi -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (4/14/2010 11:47:33 AM)

Someone you can trust and respect.

winterlight -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (4/14/2010 4:30:01 PM)

Someone you can respect and shows respect to you. Someone that is admirable, human, decent and trusting.

A friend, confidant, lover, fun to be with, takes what you have to say into consideration and listens, someone you are comfortable with and helps you discover you and both of you find new things to have fun with.

The above should also be the description of you.

Make a list of what you want if that helps.

winterlight -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (4/14/2010 4:37:32 PM)

Someone who cares and puts your safety and emotions front and foremost.

forsaken555 -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (4/21/2010 5:30:46 PM)

There really is not diff in looking for a vanilla partner and a dom. You are looking for a life partner, whom you can trust, connect with, who understands you and cares for you, whom you can have easy and great conversation with, who shares your sense of humour, because end of the day, if there is nothing but mutual kink, there's gonna be a tough relationship to last.

What everyone else said.  And for heavens sake, stay away from anyone who begins their first conversation with you by calling you a slut and being rude. :)  There are nice people out there.  Don't settle for the a**holes!

angelikaJ -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (5/6/2010 10:26:51 AM)

You are seeking a dominant partner. Do you know what type of relationship you want?
Depending on your answer there, your other requirements might shift in regards to compatibility.
The common quality you should seek out is someone who is trustworthy.

A question like this can't really be answerd......without pictures in her profile.

Sorry, that's just how it is.

subsfaith -> RE: What should I look for in a dom? (5/6/2010 11:04:53 PM)

I'm a tad confused.  Your post here says you are specifically looking for a mistress, yet your journal entry, just a month ago, says you have a burning desire to be owned by a man.

Unless you know what you want, you won't be able to find it.

Take some time to read, research and think about what it is exactly that you want.  Through that process you will be able to identify what qualities you should be looking for in a dom.

I think you would like a really fat one.
