When he's in a grumpy mood I just try to be on my best behavior. I try to be helpful, do things for him that will make him happy, I try to cheer him up. Doesn't always work but it's worth the try.

When we're both in a grumpy mood we don't take it out on each other and we talk. We're each other's rock so us actually being together tends to take that grumpiness away. Being together makes the day's troubles disappear.

I will say that in the beginning I did take his bad moods personally. I assumed I had done something wrong. This turned out to be a good thing, because I would ask him what I had done (or hadn't).

He would then tell me it was caused by something else which helped him become more communicative and helped me in learning to approaching him when he wasn't very welcoming.

Of course, in addition to caffeine or massages, blow jobs help.

I can't stand those days really, but when I wake up like that I usually stay silent with what I describe as a "contemplating scowl" throughout the day. The only way I can describe this look is really that you have a, somewhat, pissed (not full out angry) look on your face, but there's thought behind it. That usually keeps people from bugging me since it looks like I'm angry and thinking about something that is on my mind. Sometimes I'll try and think about it, but mostly I assume the feeling will pass eventually and go about my day trying to keep to myself and quiet. I can't stay at home or it'll just make me feel trapped so I usually go out to lowly populated places, or walk around populated places with my headphones on. I try to avoid people I know or people close to me, except for the ones who really know me since they find me in this mood somewhat hilarious. This is because I end up being a dick and make very honest and brutal comments in a casual way people and their situations. One of my girls whom understands me very well I tend to spend some time around since she can calm me down.

I usually emerge from my cave snarling or chuckling, I just vary from one to the other. My Dogs know what mood I'm in, if they get under the dining table, - join them.

I find that cute (not in a mocking way)

I rarely get into a bad mood but when I do I get very, very quiet. I don't talk and I try and stay away from people.

Y'know those days where for no real reason you just seem to wake up in a bad mood?  Nothing has set it off, there's no real reason to be grumpy, you just ARE. ?

How do you D types deal with that without yous s type getting the short end of it?  Do you just get on with the day as normal? Or do yuo remove yourself from the situation specificly to avoid your sub/slave till you're more balanced and then explain to them after tat it was just one of "Those days"?

Subs.. how do you cope with your Dom's grumpy ones?

When either one of is in a grumpy mood, the first inclination is to reach out and communicate this to each other.  Usually after a little talk, the situation is really resolved on some level, and we (either of us) is substantially less grumpy.  Haven't had a really bad day, but I have been depressed a couple of times and she's helped me when that happens.  So I don't feel that anyone is going to get the short end of the stick on that account.  We work it out in some way.

When I am unapproachable it is obvious just by looking at me, but I always let her know anyway. She knows to walk away and let me be with my grumpy self until I work it out. She always gets extra attention after I have been grumpy.

She only gets grumpy when I am already grumpy. What a pain in the ass! I have to identify it and walk away. We don't go long without a conversation addressing it. Moods should not drive other people's mood. A mood is not personal unless it's NOT a mood.

Definition: A mood is a relatively long lasting emotional state. Moods differ from simple emotions in that they are less specific, less intense, and less likely to be triggered by a particular stimulus or event.
