Brain -> Your Tax Dollars at War: (4/14/2010 8:48:35 PM)

Obviously it's more important to spend hard earned tax dollars on on wars and maintaining the military than to spend money on luxury items like Social Security healthcare or medical care.

You would think people would be rioting in the streets by now demanding an end to the fighting but amazingly it doesn't happen when the burden of war is shared unequally.

Your Tax Dollars at War: More Than 53% of Your Tax Payment Goes to the Military

By Dave Lindorff'

The 2011 military budget, by the way, is the largest in history, not just in actual dollars, but in inflation-adjusted dollars, exceeding even the spending in World War II, when the nation was on an all-out war footing.

What is wrong with a strong military. We are going to need the troops to hunt down Hunky and his friends.

You would think

No, not really. But some narcissistic moron with a massive case of Canadian inadequacy might dream it up and agree with himself between wanks.

Perhaps you have heard of the US Constitution, Brian? It's right there in the preamble; Provide for the common defense, Promote the general welfare.

Where the hell are you getting all these nude pics of the uber-liberal subbies and SAMs, Mike??? That shot of Brainia was just NASTY, and I'm saying that from a pretty perverted perspective!

"Provide for the common defense, Promote the general welfare"

And your point is ? Damn, we didn't even belong in WW2. Or WW1 either. Nor Korea or Vietnam nor Afghanistan nor Iraq nor anywhere. In this context common means here, not all over the firggin world. What's more they constantly refuse to protect our own borders.

I second that.

It's not just 'The Brain' who's sick of this shit.

War is stupid fucking joke. I'd rather walk to work that deal with this.

You think you're serving your country? Yeah... you're serving 5th Avenue jackasses who wouldn't be caught dead even sharing a light with the underclasses that support their excess, in surplus and in lifestyle.

Oh, and on the subject of walking to work -- here's a clear example of why the American lifestyle is fucking brain dead: you rush, rush, rush to your job, swearing and cursing, honking your horn, muscles tensing, blood-pressure rising, in fear of being a whole 5 minutes late so that your dick boss has an excuse to shit on your face. Then you rush, rush, rush home, during rush hour, so that it takes an hour and a half to go 30 miles, and you use a whole tank of gas, give or take, and everyone's swearing and spitting. Finally, you get home, the day's almost over, and now what do you do? You go to the track and run around in a fucking circle for an hour.

U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

Revolution, anyone? [:D]

Termyn8or -> RE: Your Tax Dollars at War: (4/14/2010 10:53:01 PM)

Hmmmm. Math.

At $20/hour if there were no taxes I could get $30 easily. It is 7.6 miles to work. Round trip would likely be about three hours at a reasonably brisk walk. Average six hours a day and you get sixty bucks more, but you have to walk for three hours.

So it takes some time but the air is cleaner and you are in better shape. Iraq is three countries and has no chance of a civil war. Nobody ever even heard of Afghanistan. None of the rest of this shit happened and we still have industry because it is very expensive to send every little piece of our scrap metal to China, and goods actually cost REAL money to ship overseas. Jobs are kept here, most things you buy are made in the US, and we lack the influence of foreign banks and so forth because it is cost prohibitive even to go talk to those people. The only people who made it got here by swimming, so we don't even need lifeguards.

There is no welfare, some starve, there are more jobs than people so no laws are necessary because a Man can really say "Take this job and shove it".

Quit fucking teasing me like that.

Is this really what your life is like? Damn, no wonder you're so bitter. Personally, I wouldn't put up with that shit.
