the first time i attempted to meet someone from online, we chatted for about four months before we met in person (he lived on the other side of the country). we shared our wants and dreams and desires, our funny stories, our life histories. i KNEW his SOUL. then we met in person. despite everything we had shared, it only took an instant to realize he wasn't for me. the more experiences i had with "online romance," the less time i was willing to invest in a person before meeting. if i was interested, i wanted to meet. if he or she wasn't able to, i cut my losses and moved on. there was no point in becoming emotionally attached to a fantasy. it's rough and it sucks, but it doesn't sound like he deceived you. it sounds like real life took over, which is what happens sometimes when people prolong online romances. he told you the truth...he found someone local. as other people have stated, you are young and cute. let your heart heal, regroup, and then think consciously about the realism in your searches.
