I had a profile here for one evening, and I found everything I thought I needed.
All it took was three months for me to envision my new life, all shaped around your wants and desires.
I loved you with my whole heart, and I would have done anything to make you happy..as I proved time and time again.
You made me feel so secure about my life and my future, and now that you have "found someone local", I am completely lost.

I have never been so deceived in my entire life. I opened up myself completely to you, no pun intended. For the lack of emotion and sympathy you showed this morning, I have lost so much respect for you.. and that breaks my heart even more.
I sincerely hope she is something special.

Well toots..sorry to hear you have been deceived that does suck.  But honestly, you can let someone deceive you without your permission.  You're 18 you will get over it.  You will have a lot more heartaches to come.  Advice?  be smarter who you give your heart to.

He could have killed her or nailed her mom. I say she got off fairly easy. But I am a cup half full kind of a guy.

It's a positive!!!

Way to go!!!

Online is just that, online. It's very easy for some on the internet to have the words they think you want to see or hear. Take this as a learning experience and move on. Remember that not everyone is like that, take care with who you open up to. Take it from someone who's been there, done that, not gonna do it again.

It was the postman, right? That will teach you to not send your long distance love letters.

Three months of an online 'relationship' and you were envisioning what now?

My you have a LOT to learn.

Here's my contribution:
Lesson 1: If it's online, it ain't reality.
Lesson 2: See Lesson 1.
Lesson 3: Don't trust anyone.

Oh yes, they will! The mean streets of CM, where survival of the fittest rules the day.

Wow. That sucks. You should come live in my Harry Potter room until you get over it. We are really nice and kind.

Trust me.

Op, you are only 18, so you are new to relationships.  They are both incredibly wonderful and unspeakably sucky.  You're drop dead gorgeous, so you won't be single for long as soon as you heal and head back out into the world.

the first time i attempted to meet someone from online, we chatted for about four months before we met in person (he lived on the other side of the country). we shared our wants and dreams and desires, our funny stories, our life histories. i KNEW his SOUL. then we met in person. despite everything we had shared, it only took an instant to realize he wasn't for me.

the more experiences i had with "online romance," the less time i was willing to invest in a person before meeting. if i was interested, i wanted to meet. if he or she wasn't able to, i cut my losses and moved on. there was no point in becoming emotionally attached to a fantasy.

it's rough and it sucks, but it doesn't sound like he deceived you. it sounds like real life took over, which is what happens sometimes when people prolong online romances. he told you the truth...he found someone local. as other people have stated, you are young and cute. let your heart heal, regroup, and then think consciously about the realism in your searches.

Indeed, she is.

Trust me, Rkc, there are about two billion men who want you to serve them. I just now had a look at your brief profile and got the impression that you are a bit desperate for a master and begging. There is no need to make yourself a target for those who would take advantage of an innocuous girl like yourself. You have ample choice.

Be determined to meet a suitable master and to be asked by him and the Divine will contrive for you both to accidentally meet, perhaps at the bus stop or at the railway station, or at the wedding of your twice removed niece.

Well the positivity I would say comes with the fact that now you know what it is you could potentially have, the good side of things, aside from the bit where he found someone else. Someone that can offer you what it is you want and need. This should give you something to aspire towards, you'll bounce back in due time. Take some time to relax, heal your thoughts, recoup from all of the "mess" and continue your search when you're ready. Sorry to hear things worked out the way they did.

Good luck!!!!

Perhaps you shouldn't be "loving someone with your whole heart and envisioning  your life with them" after only 3 months and you won't be so lost next time someone decieves you.  but it's a bit premature to hang so much hope on someone after only 3 months, Being a bit smarter next time and not rushing in will help.  True it'll still hurt but it w*on't have left you completely wide open and so gullible to the hurt.

I'm obviously new to the boards. So to those of you that have been somewhat understanding, and realized I just needed to get this off my chest and have a shoulder for a morning..thank you so much. To those of you that felt the need to respond with somewhat hateful messages, I'm incredibly sorry you did not have some better way to spend your time.

This has been a valuable lesson learned, I did not need put downs to assist me in seeing that. A little more common sense in using the golden rule would be much appreciated. I'm not sure I understand the desire to make people feel even worse, when they're obviously feeling low enough as it is.

Just something for a few of you to think about. Thank you again to those of you that showed a little empathy.
