As I approach yet another birthday next tuesday, I dont seem tobe looking forward to it much. Laughter helps...

Becuase your body cant keep up with your mind ,

I have to confess that birthdays don't bother me at all and I love the person I am now compared with the person I was twenty years ago.  I have more confidence and feel more comfortable in my own skin and if possible become even more childish the older I get....I like say I am in touch with my inner child, my friends just tell me I am immature [:D]

Lushy I have only known you for a couple of years on here but to me you get more fabulous with each year [:)]

I don't think growing older sucks.

I do think it means accepting that some things are changing, and that some things will have to change.

i jump in puddles, i own a spongebob fishing rod and use it in public. i dance in the rain, isneak up on my offspringsand tag them they have to decide which is more uncool running after me or stand there and stay IT. they always choose to run after me. growing old is like being put on a diet. you can do pretty much all just in smaller amounts.
you're a very sexy girl Lushy, not just physically either.

Getting older kicks ass!

The older you get, the more precious metals you own.  Granted, they're normally holding the body together, but still, they're a commodity! [:D]

At some point, i decided to add the two digits together until i had a single digit to get my  "age": never having to be older than 9.  This year i will be turning Seven.  Good times, being Seven. i remember the first go 'round i got my first set of rollerskates, kicked Cindy M. the school bully in the shins while wearing clogs (and felt ridiculously triumphant), and learned how to stay off the dodgeball court during recess on "rain days" (which gave me time to read).
You do pay a price when you act child-like. i'll spend some quality time flying kites, what a pity.
Is it getting old that makes daily life a grind or is it the daily grind which makes us old?

In approximately 2 weeks, I will be 48. I love my birthdays and I love being the age I am. I look forward to getting older.

I'm doing quite well, I can grunt and fart almost as good as any 80 year old. I can be just as forgetful at times too.

My apologies, Luciouslips--i re-read my post and see that it doesn't come off as particularly sympathetic.

Surprisingly long, weird hairs in odd places.

and the answer to my question: neither, it's the grinding in one's knees. :p

The only downside to growing old (this bunny is 45 next week!) is the fire risk from the candles on the cake [:D]
