Actually the first laws in America was those of the Jamestown colony, a charter company set up by the king of England. That trumps your theory Real.

Thats odd, your link doesnt mention the Sumerian Code. Can you point me to anything that actually backs up your claim. Say a Sumerian 10 commandments or something like that.

Thou shalt not murder for instance is purely of religious origin and regardless of what document its found in the origin is the same.

The capacity for empathy is a part of our natural endowment, and I'm fairly certain that the existence of man preceded the existence of laws. There is, therefore, no need to invoke religion to account for prohibitions against murder in human societies, nor should it be difficult to understand why such a prohibition would commonly form a part of man's theologies.

Kirata, we are talking about real here, he makes connections where there are none, and cant seem to understand that codified laws predate the bible.

well you would have a tough time explaining the bible then, conceptually conceivable but not the way history recorded it.

The Sumerian Codes are not based on religion, even if they did pray to Sun Gods. I know thats way to complicated for you to follow, but oh well.

Here is your original comment. It is glaringly inaccurate.

"Thou shalt not murder for instance is purely of religious origin and regardless of what document its found in the origin is the same."
