Are people too proud or crazy to say "Ok I fucked up I'm sorry." why do they always try shifting blame on to other people and when you forgive them and make the same mistake and own up to it they say "I'll never forgive you!" I just dont understand it.

So fucking what if you're willing to admit you're wrong? Willing to admit it doesn't buy you a "get foot out of mouth free" card.

I don't know about your world, but that isn't how things work in my world.

Have you been watching day time TV à la Jerry Springer? Because that is the only place I've ever witnessed that kind of behaviour going around.

All I'm asking is why if you forgive someone if they do something wrong and they refuse to take responsibility but you still forgive and they dont forgive you even though you are owning up to it? I never said anything about trying to avoid the consequences Aylee.

I don't get it, why would this mean there is something wrong with the world?

Because life is not a game.  As in there is not a big scorecard where if you give me three forgives I owe you three.

I forgave you for oversalting the potatoes so you have to forgive me for leaving the seat up, kind of thing, is just unworkable on a large scale without flow-sheets and a powerpoint presentation.

And as far as you forgiving someone for something and them never being able to forgive you for the same thing, well . . . obviously you two have different degrees of just how serious the issue was that needed forgiveness.

Yes you are.  By keeping score you are trying to claim that you are "owed" a certain type of feeling/response.  That is emotional manipulation.

Are you not keeping up?  The world, or at least one person on it, owes him something.

I am really glad right now that I refrained from my original answer to the OP, which was:  The problem with the world is too many damn polar bears.  LOL

Ah okay so my first thought was right, he thinks the world revolves around him.

Oh hey there's no need for personal attacks, we polar bears are lovely

Me being able to wake up and want to go do things.

And Generally be alive.

To know that my other half is out there.
And enjoy something so simple as to observe the ants.

Living will be the death of me.

And I will have Pyroaquatic Clones.

Oh by the way.... I am crazy and will be the first to admit it. Okay?

Goodbye.

love your attitude pyro - well except the "living will be the death of me" part.  What do you mean by saying goodbye, where you going?

If you live you are bound to die. Living kills.

There are many things I would like to do with only a little amount of time. I have to make the best with what I got (and I do not have much).

If your forgiveness was at all conditional, even retroactively, then perhaps it is YOUR world that is in need of tuning rather than everyone else's.  Also, context plays a huge role in how "forgivable" a mistake is.  Further, isn't expecting forgiveness in a way shifting at least some kind of "blame" or "responsibility"?  Owning up to your mistakes includes accepting that, no matter what your response has been in the past, that no one owes it to you to let it go.  It is part and parcel of the responsibility you claim is knowing you just might lose it all.  Either you forgive or you don't.  Either you take responsibility for your mistakes or you don't.  These are things where you really can't have it both ways.

This is why I missed your posts, pyro, you have such a unique (in a good way) way of looking at the world.  Just don't forget to live fully okay? *smiles warmly*

What the fuck is going on here???

Oops, wrong thread.

OP, it'd be grand if everyone was responsible, but that'll never happen.

Probably nothing, it is just our perceptions have changed.

Blame, blame only became fashionable when people learned they could make money out of it and even when they can't they are still stuck in the idea, as it seems we are trained.

What's wrong with the World?

Well....

The slow destruction of the human genome.
Corporate greed and instant gratification being placed in higher value than the long term viability of the planet and the human race, to name a few

...Oh and I had Hot Cross Buns for breakfast and it isn't even Easter any more......Yep...I'm a real maverick.

I think the title of this thread should have been....

What is wrong with ME and MY world.

Seconding what has already been said here ...
It is not a poker game, I see your forgivness and raise you 3.
And forgiveness should not be conditional either.
In fact, forgiveness should not be a given.
There is no law that says someone HAS TO forgive you.
THey may not necessarily be allowed to kidnap you and carve their initials into your arse, all while slowly ripping your bollocks of: but they still don't have to forgive you.

So get over yourself, if you want forgiveness you have to earn it.
Kinda like respect in that fashion...

It started to decay the moment that Michael Jordan put on a Washington Wizards jersey....the rest is history.
