Stephen Covey actually schedules regular "dates" with children, one on one outings with each of them.

It's an interesting idea. Some married couples do the same for time out together themselves each week.

i've always had "bonding nights" with every single person i've ever lived with---whether parent, roommate or significant other. i'll testify--they work extremely well, plan one now! You won't regret it.

Hugs da holly-mama...

I try to make dates with the Things, too. One for each kid alone, and one for all of us. It's very special and usually make for some really great stories and memories later. Not to mention photos caught on my cell phone that I look at throughout the day, especially when I'm at work, and just want to get home to them.
