These illegal immigrants are stealing all the jobs, it's my god given right to clean toilets for 2p an hour.

At the end of the day, sometimes there is this little "issue" called laws and "the law".
Can we pick and choose which ones we want to obey?
If so, I have plenty I would rather not obey.

If that is the case, why not throw out most of the laws?
What is the point in being a citizen of a country?

Are you for or against E-verification?

I'm against all things with E in the title from Email to E.coli

kittin, I agree with your post, and I am not too "chicken-shit" to discuss anything,
especially the immigration process.

I am not surprised that the immigration system here is a nightmare!
You know why?
Because most of the systems in our country need to be over-hauled, not just how we handle

immigration issues!!

I work in the school system, and that system is broken, and is getting worse every day.

If our country is having an economic crisis, a housing crisis, an employment crisis, a health care crisis and our educational system is in crisis, why in the hell should the process of becoming a US system be in better?

I don't see any countries in this world, that don't have issues, and I don't know of any country that I consider anywhere near being a utopian society.

When you find that perfect country, let me know and I will see how quickly and easily I can obtain citizenship THERE.

Until then I will stick with the very imperfect USA.
Actually, the USA with all its crap, issues and problems is MY Utopia.

Making it easier to become a legal citizen in this country, will just have to take a number behind affordable housing, healthcare, the economy and the school system.

Marini - my comments weren't directed at you. Sorry if that's how it came across.

kittin, no worries at all.
I enjoyed hearing about what you had to go through to become an American citizen.
Many of us have NO idea what it takes, or what you have to go through.
I am not surprised that it is so difficult.

Despite, the fact that I feel illegal immigration needs to be dealt with, I will say this in all honesty.
If I lived in Mexico, and could not find a job or support myself and my family, I sure as hell would come into this country illegally also, and look for work.

At the end of the day, the first law of the jungle is survival.
Most people will do what they need to do, to survive.
