All you have are your personal attacks and your gimmicks and your games, you and your friends cannot discuss ideas logically. Case in point, it was mnot who dragged that other thread in here, Tim.

I was verbally attacked with his nonsense statements wherin he claimed he didn't have a clue what the editorial cartoon meant, and so I explained it to him.

Yet you abandon logic so you can attack me over it...

Do you realize you keep changing the subject to other thread topics once we call you on your insanity? What's left to do but resay the points in the threads for those topics?

From terrorism to tea party to Arizonian donuts. You've had a busy morning.

Don't worry--the next Rush show will come on before long, and you'll again have more entertainment to parrot as politics.

Isn't this the way he always responds?  You should know by now not to expect an actual discussion with him.

Yeah, and after changing the subjects, the attacks and the cry of victim.

He came in with ridiculous claims, got shot down with reason, and ran for cover.

That's the trouble with simply repeating what you hear an entertainer say on the radio.

This requires at least two attributes to be discussed logically.

One:  it must be an idea.
Two: it must be something that is capable of logic.

You have been given several reasons why ANY terrorism is not worthy of considering in this context.

However, like the Nuke Plants, the idea of drill baby drill and offshore drilling and how to protect our doing that from terrorism is worthy of a thread in and of itself.

But we are talking about what lead us to this point and what we do about this, not about tinfoilers and worthless shit like that.

Sanity -> RE: Drill baby, drill? (4/30/2010 8:33:18 AM)

So, you're proposing that we go back to the stone age?

And the United States isn't the only country that uses petroleum products, and in fact China is exploring for oil in the Gulf Of Mexico.

So even if you got your dream and grandma and grandpa had to walk wherever they went here in the U.S., around the world everyone else will still be enjoying all the benefits (as well as jobs) that the petroleum industry has been providing for over a hundred years.

BP spill has reached the Louisiana coastline.

It's an American right to waste whatever you can afford.

Apple pie, anyone? You won't be able to mass-produce shit-laced food without oil... wouldn't that be a shame.

Gee, I hope oil doesn't run out. America would just grind to a halt. Shame, shame, shame. The American way of life... a thing to waste... I mean... right, that's what I mean.

mnottertail -> RE: Drill baby, drill? (4/30/2010 8:36:42 AM)

A re-moritorium on offshore drilling would not send us back to the stoneage, plenty of oil that is on lease in our native ground (ND just found out that their big well is twice as big as they thought it was)  ...

But now how much of that BP oil from that well is coming to America, Sanity?

You're good at finding fucked up links, can you actually find one that has something to do with the question at hand for a change?

mnottertail -> RE: Drill baby, drill? (4/30/2010 8:38:36 AM)

P.S.  Hurricane Season is drawing nigh, is it not?  Then what, since they may be 3 or more months away from stopping it up?

Point out the thread where I changed the subject or played the victim card, Tim.

You can't do it because you're full of shit.

Eh, post 108 don't look very good for you Tom.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Drill baby, drill? (4/30/2010 9:00:39 AM)

Ron,

The Timor Sea leak started on August 21 and wasn't stopped until November 3.  They also had to drill a relief well.  This should give everyone a pretty good time line of what it might take to stop the leak.  It won't be quick.

This is the second major deep water accident in less than a year.  But hey give Sanity a chance and he might be able to link terrorist to that one as well.

BP is already to trying to position blame.
The head of BP Group told CNN's Brian Todd in an exclusive interview Wednesday that the accident could have
been prevented, and he focused blame on rig owner Transocean Ltd.  They have publicly said that "Transoceans"
blowout preventer which was being operated by "Transocean" failed.

He's either stoned or he's stupid. Why did he say SWAT team if he meant inspectors?

And why did he wait so long to get the Navy involved.

The inspectors are often referred to as swat teams, though I must admit I've never heard it used by anyone in charge, it was always more of the workers and companies.

Which are you stoned or stupid?

I vote stupid.

Thanks for the heads up Tom, I'm sure you are right.  You have proven out here many a time that you have an abnormal grasp of the facts.

His thread is back to your original subject.

You know....before you changed it three times, then changed it again to your current tantrum.

BILL MAHER: Okay, so I mentioned in the monologue I'm a little mad this week. I usually try to hide that, but, you know, when the Teabaggers say that they feel like they have no...

CHRIS MATTHEWS, MSNBC: I love the way you say that.

MAHER: What?

ROSS DOUTHAT, NEW YORK TIMES: Just trips off the tongue.

MATTHEWS: The Teabaggers.

MAHER: The Teabag, well, you know they always say they feel like neither Party represents them. That's how I feel this week. So Teabaggers, you're not alone. And the reason why is because yes, I'm mad at the oil company who didn't obviously build their rig well enough. I'm mad at America in general because we should have gotten off the oil tit starting in the '70s. I'm mad at the people who go, "Drill, baby, drill." And by the way, they should turn up on the Gulf Coast and start cleaning up the birds with their "Drill, baby, drill" t-shirts. But I'll tell you who I'm really mad at which is Barack Obama. Couple of weeks ago, the President, our President said, "It turns out the oil rigs today generally don't cause oil spills. They are technologically very advanced." Now if, if I was quoting George Bush, this crowd would be laughing in hysterics.

LAURA TYSON, ECONOMIST AND FORMER CLINTON
ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL: Yes they would.

MAHER: So, why isn't Barack Obama getting more shit for this? I think he should.

(Applause.)
