Okay, here it is.  Me and Daddy have experienced breath play, knife play (although I was the one weilding the knife upon myself) and other forms of contact, such as spankings, punchings, and the ever-dreaded-but-anticipated ninja chop to a major muscle.  (yum!)

But FINALLY he is ready to embark upon some bondage play too.  Crazy right?  Since he is able and willing to do all these other things to/with me, what is so scary about some rope?  Tying me down? 

My main concern is that I really don't want to "top from the bottom" but fear that may almost be necessary, given that I have more experience than he does on such things.  We are both envisioning some sort of home break-in, abduction scene.  (Visions of duct tape are dancing in my head)

Any thoughts?  Pointers?

As long as he knows enough to keep you safe and not cut off circulation, let him do things his way.  He can learn OJT.  Perhaps he can attend some demos?

Thanx, guys for the solid advice.

I shall have to dig out the Uber Subbie Hat and just let him do what he may.  I have a feeling the learning experience is going to be thrilling!

As for Safe, Sane, Consentual, yes he has the utmost (is that a word?  If not, it is now!) concern for safety, making sure that I am not in real danger, also making sure that he is not in real danger also (I can get rather fiesty) and no, I don't have a need for any safewords.  We trust each other enough that safewords are not necessary.  Which, BTW, also gets the juices flowing, [:D][:D][:D]

ETA:  I will keep my eye on this post, since I am really hoping that some sound minds add their input.  And also to giggle until my tummy hurts at any wankers that want to chime in too.

The first time ever did this he tied me tightly. He did not cut off cicurlation . He also tied me in a way that if something went wrong i could get my self free if i really worked at it. I had no fear he would harm me but say he had a heart attack or something like that i could get free to call for help. It would not be easy to get free but i could if needed.

As others said i enjoy its fun.

Why on earth would the first time involve struggling, consensual nonconsent etc. Why not start with him practicing ties on you while you give feedback ie, 5 minutes in your fingers are going numb and so on. Until he feels more confidant.

Not everything has to be a full out scene. He could tie you up while you watch tv just to get more comfortable doing ties.

Tie bandana's around your wrist and ankles and points where he may tie.
Also use things like bondage tape, ace bandages and silk scarves
Since he's a beginner, the ropes may slip or get too tight-this will help prevent circulation being cut off.
Also use leather cuffs, collars, etc...with rings inset, that way any pulling is done on rings instead of flesh.


And keep a razor close by in case you flip, that way he can cut you free with a snip....

Hi wildcat,

I LOVE bondage. My advice is: use very thick rope. The thicker the rope, the more comfortable. Thick, bad-ass rope also looks very dramatic and hot. Thinner stuff (like yarn or ribbon or silk scarves) will cut into your skin and give ya rug burns--or worse.

Paramedic shears are at the ready in my "toybox", along with some thick, but pretty, rope.  Woohoo![:D]

The issue at hand isn't that I am unfamiliar with any bondage play, it's just not something that we have engaged in together.

What's scary is different for different people. What comes to mind is ... permanent nerve damage. I've known people afraid of that and won't do it. I had a fellow who had me take a very big scarf and wrap my wrists in it - no tying - so that I could pull and not move. I could also just unwrap it if things get hinky.

Perhaps he just isn't into it. There's also the whole "don't move" thrill without ropes... *just saying.

I agree with DesFIP that trying something new like rope bondage within a playfight/force/consensual non-consent scene sounds like it would be awkward. Bondage cuffs with a couple of carabiners and/or a dog choke chain or some such would probably be a lot easier to use in that kind of scenario. If he *asks* you for instructions on something, you aren't "topping from the bottom" by complying - you're obeying him. [;)] If you can't attend a class, there are some detailed video clips that he might find helpful to get started (he can watch either while tying you up, or beforehand). If he wants to experiment, you can be quiet unless he does something that is uncomfortable in a bad way (pinching a nerve, interfering with circulation, pulling you into a position you can't maintain for more than a few seconds), let him know.

If he has no experience at bondage then he needs to do some research first to discover what is and is not safe. You can't just copy a porn pic and have it work out fine. It won't.

Learning how to tie knots that don't tighten when the victim struggles is not intuitive. Find him resources. Buy him books. Let him practice on chair legs until he feels competent practicing on you.

As for the knife play, this was short-lived, as I got the giggles at the most inappropriate of times, and this scenario turned into a tickle-match.  Pointy things were quickly discarded.  [:D]

The suggestions of practice and research on his end are quite sound, and much appreciated.  And as for porn being utilized as any kind of reference?  Ick!  We just aren't wild into porn.

Definitely do a some research on ropework! There are a lot of books out there and Two Knotty Boys have some great (free!) videos. Or, you might try some leather cuffs as the tie points. That way he can still play with rope while not cutting of circulation.

Your posts confuse me. I thought you were looking for some concrete advice on how to prepare your inexperienced Top to tie you up. I offered a tip.

Come to find out, you say you know tons about bondage. So I'd like to know: What is it that you need advice about?

How to teach Daddy the skill of tying you up without the burden of actual conversation beforehand?

How to maintain the illusion of surrendering, while you control him?

How to force him to enjoy a scene derived from only your fantasies?

Or is it how trash your Daddy's limits because, well, you really are more important than him?

Please let us know what you're really asking.
