They will be washing up on the shores of the southwest this summer, right, that will get me out of my reclusive ways a bit.

Things that can be done with rubber ducks

I got Me a piece of history: two small oddly-shaped pieces of burnt and oxidized metal picked up from the base of the launchpad where Apollo 1 caught fire and burnt up during a prep exercise with a crew of three trapped in the cockpit in January 1967, the year I was born.
<<-- is a major space Geek and thinx this is pretty cool.

Cool indeed...My only piece of history is a piece of pottery I picked up in Jiaohe, a town in Chinese Turkestan sacked by Genghis Khan...and being a major history geek I  Think this is super cool...who knows maybe Genghis himself smashed the pot I have a shard from....

I live near Hadrian's Wall here in the UK (built around 200 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian to keep the Scots out of England)...and I have a roman coin I dug up from a field next to the wall when I was a kid. It's nearly two thousand years old, which is pretty awesome!

My prized possession is not as significant as some above but it is a family heirloom. It is an anvil my 5-removed grandfather used on his plantation in S. Carolina in 1750

Oh lord......I am an antiques nut, a jewelry nut, and a history nut.

Some of my favourite things are a blanket chest from the 1700's with original faux finish that my grandmother brought with her to Iowa. A whole bunch of old family photos and documents she had in it, including many, behinds the scenes photos, of a circus my grandfather worked for in the late 30's. They are AWESOME! I have quite a lot of old SW indian silver jewelry including a very old tufa cast silver cross that is about 3 inches long. And several dozen arrowheads etc that have mostly been found around the area I live now. We've evidence that a tool maker lived on our property by the items we've found. When I find a half finished piece I love knowing that I am the first person to touch it since the person that was making it.

I love the thought of a flotilla of rubber duckies sailing the oceans blue!
