Status: offline 		It's not just this poll which confuzzles me here, but the entire concept of getting all upset and emotional over other people using this site who do not directly relate to us, whether it's scammers, people who view us, messages we receive, etc.

Think about this for a minute. Yes different people view us, and different people message us and try to get to know us. But you know you walk outside your front door into the street and different people look at us when we're out in public everywhere we go.

OMG! A man with a big red nose looked at me today as I walked down the street. This woman with massive knockers stared at me at the bus stop! As for the man with the shiny bald head in the supermarket...

It's also nice to be assumed to be a scammer by an American just because I'm not in the United States.

My interest in people in this site lies with those who are either in my life in some way or who have a valid reason for wanting to become a part of my life. I don't have much time, energy or motivation to be interested in anyone beyond this.

I know that much of the attention I receive from others may not be the sort of attention I'm looking for and I'm okay with that. There's not much I can do about that other than hiding my profile or deleting it. I have contacted people who weren't interested in having contact with me and that's fine too. I'm not here to be famous, well-known, popular or even liked by a number of other people.

And if not being an American in the States makes me a scammer I'm okay with that too. Assume what you like. It doesn't make any difference to me.

I know who I am, so do the people who know me. The rest is immaterial and to me, not worth bothering about. And besides....

Status: offline 		ST, take the controllers away until after all the chores and homework are done. Do not say it's a punishment, do tell her that since she can't concentrate properly with the option of playing there, you are helping her prioritize by removing that option.

Telling my kid it was punishment caused massive problems. When I reframed it as a way for him to focus without the draw of the distractions, it was easy for him to bundle the xbox up on Sunday night. Once he got in the habit of doing homework first, it was no problem.

well...I am sure they would if it would be compulsary as it is in australia

that's at least what we were being told over here in an early morning show recently - which came during my night shift - where they explained different election models in different countries...there they said that you get fines over there if you dare not to vote

@ MC4Misfit : Well if it's any consolation, just because you're American (or possibly as we non US citizens might say ...  a US citizen) (of which you'd have every right to be proud, but a term I have to be tactful with due to knowing non US Americans) and don't need to know what you're voting for ... it ain't going to make a blind bit of difference how many victims there will be if you check, don't check, or don't even turn up to check a box for the next 50 years ... at least.

Status: offline 		Use to, if you registered to vote, you open yourself to being called upon for jury duty (in Texas).  These days, if you are applying for food stamps, they have to present the register as an option.  If you are getting a license or ID for the state, you are automatically on the local jury duty list.  I am a registered voter and so far, I have not been called for duty.  My baby brother in Afghanistan has been called for jury duty.  Mom had to explain to the clerk why he is not able to serve on a jury.

This is a screwed poll.  I should of had pictures of the cakes.  I am just frustrated at some aspects of CM is really has to be monitored by us because I know the mods are doing a thankless job.
