To add a bit of light hearted banter, I thought we could add some religion to our music.... or music to our religion.

What are some (non-religious) songs that talk about religion? Links, history, anecdotes, whatever... are cool.

I'll start with

Imagine John Lennon


I will sometimes use this for teaching because his lyrics are so slow and the students can understand them.

How bout you all? Any religion in your non-religious music?

America is really a beautifully designed organization that allows people to have freedom from religion.

Religious people kneel and suck up to an invisible god. Religious people are pathetic! Nothing good will ever cum from an invisible god.

If claiming to be a god makes it count as a religious song, Kiss of the Scorpion is awesome.

"It's time you sucked the cock of the fire god!" is possibly one of my favourite lyrics ever.
