The democrats took control of congress 2006, that is when this deficit shit exploded....any other way to explain it is pure liberal spin.... -Cuckyman

Way to get it wrong. Bush II had a surplus when entered office. Squandered as fast as he could snort his next line of coke. There, the bomb found its igniter.

So you are claiming that Bush used cocaine while President?

Is this simply hyperbole, or are you making the actual claim?

Metaphore for his ability to go through the white stuff when he was just a 30 year old youngster finding his way in life. LOL

If the Teaparty were black, wouldn't they be the Earl Grey party?

FR:

hmmmm ....

If you believe that government should have more power over society, and your favorite party isn't in power, it's "dissent is the highest form of patriotism "

Once your party is in power, however, it becomes "dissent is sedition and treason" and simply bigotry to oppose it.

Got it.

I disagree - as annoying as I found the anti-war protesters during the Bush era, I respect the fact that they gathered and protested peacefully without any intimations of violence or revolution.

You are joking, aren't you? [8D]

The only issue I have with the Tea Party movement is the fact that they think the solution lies in the Second Amendment rather than the First.

hmm, painting with a pretty board brush today, aren't we?

NO !! This is what Dr. Phil does. "Well, what if...?"

Well, what IF I won the fucking lottery...or what if you get fired tomm. ? 'What if's' demonstrate a lack of understanding in issues resulting in conjuring up wild speculation.

Besides...black folks don't watch Fox News.

"What if the Tea Party were black?"

What a ridiculous premise.

Who gives a fuck? They are not black.

Who cares? It's an irrelevant hypothesis.

Who gives a shit? Plurality isn't represented in the Tea Party, the most "exlusive", monocultural fucking movement in  decades.

Let's get real, shall we?

Do you really need this explained to you?  The entire point of the article is that at least part of the political division has roots in race.  That if the same methods where used by people of a different ethnicity, then they would probably be perceived differently.

By changing the details of the scenario, the article attempts to point out how race plays a factor in this political dialogue, and hopefully to get us to re-examine our own ideas and feelings, and perhaps get a greater understanding of today's political climate.

Sometimes I think people just don't want to understand certain things.

Maybe so. But worse than that, some of them are convinced that they already do.
